Kapitel 122: Changes in the Tournament

A week after the last confrontation, things took a turn for the better. For everyone, concluding the tournament in a single night was eagerly anticipated after enjoying other aspects of this place. Many couldn't wait, but they had to postpone the tournament for a week because many fighters needed time to recover from their injuries and be in better condition for the fights.

"Is the final going to be today?" Devon on the other side of the screen looked at Dash, who was eating, and asked in a serious tone.

Dash, after finishing his meal, said, "In theory, the final is today, although after that, I'll spend a few days in review in case any injuries we aren't aware of are present in my condition."

"A few days before the All Valley tournament, will you be able to make it to the competition?" Devon just wanted Dash to come back and not be alone in a country where they didn't speak the language, so knowing he was close to the final made her happy.

"I don't think I can make it in time, but I'll do my best..." Dash smiled slightly, concealing from Devon the fact that he might end up very injured.

"Too bad. At least we'll record how we break the faces of the Cobra Kai guys who have been acting crazy lately..." Devon smiled, thinking about all the crazy things that had happened recently.

Dash, who had heard about everything that had happened with Cobra Kai, smiled slightly. From what he had heard, the relationship with Daniel LaRusso had worsened, and now they were in some kind of war.

"But we have more students, right?" Dash raised his eyebrows, thinking he would be much more at ease watching all that drama from the sidelines.

Devon smiled and said, "The way they teach their students in Cobra Kai would be good if applied only in tournaments, but it seems they've taken it as a lifestyle."

It was well known that Cobra Kai students showed no mercy, but that ideology is very risky to implement nowadays since many were not up for senseless fights. Dash was unaware of the rivalry Johnny was having with Daniel, but if things escalated, history would repeat itself as in the past. But at this moment, these were not Dash's concerns, so he said, "Before hanging up, is there anything you wanted to tell your boyfriend before the final fights?"

"Don't have mercy on your opponents; they're still older than you, so it's not the time to be considerate with others." Devon looked at Dash and nodded, knowing he was okay. After the call time was up, they bid each other farewell.

After the call ended, Dash remained silent. At least this was about to end, and the winner would be decided based on that. All the fighters who had advanced to the quarterfinals had been gathering in the outdoor area where the combat would take place.

The VIP members, as expected, had started their big bets, something Dash was completely oblivious to.

"Hey Jack, want to make a bet on the performance of our two fighters? The age difference isn't much, and it seems like your guy has a good chance of reaching the semifinal." Carpio approached Jack, who was talking with some colleagues, and proposed a bet.

Jack, who expected this, asked, "What do you want to bet?"

"Your complete collection of private paintings. It would be an honor to have them in my living room after tonight." Carpio smiled sarcastically and said, "Sure, I'd give you anything I could in exchange for that."

Jack furrowed his brows, and after hesitating for a moment, he nodded. "Then I want your complete collection of antique cars; lately, I've been getting interested in engines."

Carpio, who was smiling, fell completely silent after hearing what Jack wanted in exchange for his victory in this bet. In that sense, the offer might surpass billions of dollars, although the cars are not worth much more than the paintings; the collection was quite extensive.

"But you know that art is no less than your cars, so I also want your yachts and islands in the Black Sea." Jack added while looking seriously at Carpio. Both knew that their fighters could lose before the final, so this type of bet was extremely dangerous.

Carpio had done this thinking that Jack would refuse; there was no way he would say yes in his eyes. But he was surprised that this was not the case, so he said, "You're asking for too much..."

"Your fighter is almost at the age limit for this tournament. Wouldn't you have the advantage with a fifteen-year-old kid?" Jack acted surprised at Carpio's cowardice.

"Then let's do it. If your fighter gets further than mine in the competition, what you've asked for will be yours." Carpio shook hands, and this bet was immediately registered to avoid any problems.

By the time Carpio left, Jack's assistant asked, "Do you want us to inform your fighter about this?"

"Just tell him that if he wins, he'll have enough money to live for the rest of his life without doing anything, fight well, and prepare properly because tonight is going to be very long." Jack didn't want to think about Dash's possibilities; all he wanted was for him to be aware that his victory was at stake, and he should only know that.

"Whether it's a defeat or victory, I hope Dash has the balls to go all the way to the end..."

Kapitel 123: The Quarterfinals and Changes in the Tournament

"Tonight will be an incredible night; all fighters will battle, and we will finally know who will be the winner of the Hidden Dragon tournament. Are you excited to find out the results of this tournament?"

"Ha!"

Outside the combat arena, Dash struck the bags numerous times, working with a bag held by Santiago to warm up his muscles and be ready for his fight.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Dash was too fast with his punches, and there was serenity on his face as if he wasn't tired of training at this speed.

Next to him, Santiago nodded in approval, surprised by the physique Dash had achieved at his young age, and said, "Good, kid, save energy for your opponents and focus on stretching."

Dash smiled and withdrew his fist from Santiago's gloves. It had been about a month since this competition started, and it was certainly a long time considering that a tournament usually ends in a day. But considering that the matches were not scored, and the winner was the one left standing, it was understandable that the organizers gave them more time to recover a bit.

"Do you have information about who I'm going to face?" Dash asked while looking at Santiago, who was very nervous.

Santiago nodded and said, "The lunatic you'll face in these quarterfinals is named Ivan Petrov, outstanding in Sambo. He has dominated the scene with his skill in throws and bone-breaking submissions. His aggressiveness on the ground has earned him a solid 78% victory rate in the last five years."

"How brutish is he in close combat?" Dash asked while tying his long hair and looking towards the platform.

Santiago thought about it and said, "He's tough; you must be careful with his bursts of speed because if he takes you down, you won't be able to get back up."

Dash had seen some replays of how he had won his previous matches and frowned, knowing he would be a tough opponent.

"A damn tank," Santiago muttered, looking at the size of the opponent Dash would face, and pointed, "But just focus on hitting his nerves; you'll finish him off as long as you stay focused."

Dash didn't fully believe this the way Santiago was saying it because Combat Sambo is a hybrid martial art of Russian origin. It encompasses techniques from all combat distances: striking with fists, elbows, knees, legs, and close-quarters combat, throws, projections, strangulations, joint locks, and all kinds of submissions. Considering the size of his opponent, things could get a bit out of control...

"First time I'm excited; I should break his nose, or that guy will end up breaking my bones," Dash thought, looking at the brutal appearance of the man who should be around twenty-four years old.

Santiago smiled on the side and slowly adjusted his voice, murmuring, "Go for his head; hit his forehead well, and he'll go to sleep like a baby on Independence Day."

Dash, wearing his black Kung Fu suit, looked at Santiago and said, "If I fail, he'll crush me. Do you know the takedown force those guys have?"

"They're tanks, but I trust you'll win..." Santiago didn't say much but pulled out a cross from under his shirt and pointed, "The one above protects us; go and hit as much as you want."

"Hale against Petrov!"

On the screen, the first fight appeared, so immediately after hearing his name, Dash jumped quickly into the arena and looked at his opponent in the distance, easily measuring two meters in height.

Under the watchful eyes of the audience, Dash began to take small jumps while analyzing the kind of fight he could develop in the next few seconds.

"Come on, son, don't be ashamed and go for his damn testicles!" Santiago shouted from Dash's corner, who was ecstatic about this fight.

Listening to Santiago's instructions, Dash shook his head on the side while raising his fists.

"The rules are simple; the fight doesn't end until one of you surrenders or is out of combat. Bleed, cry, or have a bone broken; that doesn't matter, just win, understood?" The referee looked at both fighters and shouted, "Fight!"

"Arghhh!"

As soon as the fight started, Petrov launched himself against Dash at an incredibly fast speed, and at that moment, the chances were getting smaller and smaller.

Dash, who was watching, felt nervous, so initially, he jumped and kicked towards Petrov's head, but he took his leg and forcefully threw him into the air.

"Damn!" Dash, who was thrown into the air, covered his head, and feeling his body collide with the ground immediately after, he stood up.
