Kapitel 40: New home.

- Sorry... - Arthur said as he walked away from Samantha.

- It's okay... I guess I should be apologizing Ahaha... - Samantha said a little awkwardly, as she didn't quite understand how things were going. 'Shouldn't he be angry? And why did he apologize?' Samantha was confused by Arthur's reaction, but still managed to keep a smile on her face.

- Can I ask you something? - Arthur said as he looked into Samantha's eyes.

- Of course.

- Why did you show me more than just the training? - Arthur paused before continuing. - Why did you show me such an important part of your life?

- An important part in... Well, it must seem that way to you, but to me it's just another day, you know. - Samantha said as she squared her shoulders and shook her head in denial, a posture similar to the one she had seen one of the children make while saying something she considered obvious in Arthur's memoirs, after showing one of her acquisitions by looking at Arthur's memoirs she continued with a faint smile on her face. - As for the reason for showing beyond the training... Basically I wanted to show the importance of strength to you, I'm not sure if it remains so in this era, but as you've seen, in the era I lived in a lack of strength could cause your best friends to betray you, and I wouldn't want you to go through that... - Samantha said, her smile appearing gentler as she looked at Arthur.

Seeing the look on Samantha's face reminded him of the look on his mother's. Her look was the same as the one he had seen a few times during his exam and it confused him, since he and Samantha had only known each other for a short time.

- Why? - Arthur asked as he stared at Samantha, looking directly into her eyes.

- Hm? - With Arthur's sudden question she was confused, she looked at his determined and at the same time sad gaze and didn't know what to answer, no, she didn't even understand his question, but she was a little afraid to say she didn't understand the question while looking at his gaze; however, although she didn't want to ask what he meant, she couldn't hide her reaction, since she hadn't expected such a vague question.

Seeing Samantha's reaction and expression, Arthur realized that his question had been too vague. 'She can't read my mind after all; how could I want her to understand with just a stupid question like that...' Arthur thought before rephrasing his question.

- Why do you care? - Arthur said, but as soon as he heard Samantha's answer, he realized it was vague again.

- Why do I care about what exactly? - Samantha's eyebrows furrowed as she looked at Arthur.

- Why do you care if they betray me?

- Oh, that's it... Well, normally I wouldn't care...

- So why do you care now?

- Because you're my little brother. - Samantha said with a genuine, gentle smile on her face as she began to stroke Arthur's hair.

Arthur was silent for a while in contemplation before speaking to Samantha again. - Samantha, could you explain more about being your brother?

- Of course, but... What exactly do you want me to explain? - Samantha looked at Arthur with a confused look as she asked.

- Well... I only had a sister until yesterday and out of the blue you say you're my sister... I don't understand that. - Arthur said with a faint smile on his face as he looked at Samantha.

- Well, you won't understand the concept... I'll summarize for now, but before that, did you notice the change in your eyes after I said you are my brother?

- Uh-huh. - Arthur nodded positively at Samantha.

- Well, what I did was merge our origins, basically I took a part of your soul's origin and gave you part of mine in return, you won't understand what origin means just yet, but the reason I call you brother is that the origin basically comes from different origins, just the intertwining of two origins generates a new origin. - Samantha stopped her explanation and looked at Arthur's confused face. Smiling at his amused expression, she ruffled his hair and spoke. - Only your parents can generate your origins, so even if the siblings look different, their origins are identical, and since I took a part of yours and gave you a part of mine, our origins are almost the same now. - Samantha said as she watched Arthur's reaction.

Despite Samantha's explanation Arthur was still confused, he didn't quite understand, but as she said he wouldn't understand he decided to leave it alone for the time being, he just asked another question out of curiosity. - I didn't quite understand, but I'll ignore it now; but I'm still not sure why you like me? Even though you're a brother, you don't have to like me, right? - Arthur asked as his brow involuntarily furrowed.

- Hmm, I don't know. - Samantha shrugged at Arthur's question. - Maybe it's a side effect, just as I didn't know that your soul fusion would be accelerated, I had no idea that I would see you as my brother to this extent. - Samantha said with a slight smile on her face as she continued to observe the changes in Arthur's expression.

Arthur was even more confused to hear that Samantha didn't know the consequences of 'becoming' his sister. - If you didn't know the consequences... Why did you become my sister?

- Because it's the last chance... All the other times I didn't want to risk it, I failed, this can't happen again, this time I need to at least prepare someone to hold things together for a while, otherwise... - Samantha's smile disappeared at this point, her expression becoming a little sad.

- Last chance? - Arthur asked with a frown.

- For now, you won't understand, and you don't need to, just... Just get stronger and I'll explain everything to you later... - Samantha said after a pause, she looked at Arthur and saw that he intended to continue asking, but she interrupted him and just said.

- That's enough for today, Arthur, tomorrow we'll continue with the training... For now, go and see your new home. - Samantha said with a slightly forced smile while her face looked a little tired.

This chapter is brief as it complements the preceding one.

"This is already the second chapter where the last paragraph has disappeared when viewed on cell phones. To avoid this, I've decided to duplicate this message at the end of each chapter, hoping it will resolve the issue. If you're reading this, I apologize if it's intrusive, but it's a better solution than leaving the chapter incomplete."
