Cassandra looked sad, but not as if what I had just said, my apology about her curse, had been the cause of it. Actually, she looked as if she was just perpetually sad. It felt to me that she was so used to disappointment in her life, that she had settled on this permanent look of defeat. 

What must that be like? How had she managed to make it through life when she wasn't able to be trusted by almost anyone? All of the celestials distrusted her. The fates even seemed to distrust her as well. And it was all due to her curse.

"Cassandra?" I called her in a questioning tone. 

"Yes, Talia?" She smiled at me, but even that looked sad. 

"Your curse was to give true prophecies but never to be trusted. But that meant that what you saw was real and true, right? So, are you here because you saw something? Something that has to do with my family?"
