Many people of Zombo mourned for their beloved leader who brought them peace and freedom, but the feeling of grief soon gave away to a determination to avenge her death. The people of Zombo formed an army, led by the bravest of their men and women, and marched on Xerope's fortress. A long and bloody battle ensued, but in the end the people of Zombo emerged as victors and killed Xerope. The people of Zombo then celebrated their victory and declared that Nandi had finally been avenged. From then on, Nandi's legacy was kept alive in the hearts of the people of Zombo and they viewed her as a symbol of justice and freedom that they would strive to preserve.
