Kapitel 130: Who did it?

I can only stay silent; I can no longer cry. It feels so exhausting; problems keep coming – my mother passed away, my father started opposing my relationship with Charlie, and now he's been shot.

It makes me afraid; what if he doesn't survive? Who should I lean on? I'm not prepared to lose him, never ready, and I never imagined raising our child without him.

I spend all my time holding his hand, watching his bare chest, making sure he keeps breathing.

What happened to my mother seems like a lingering trauma, still vivid in my memory. She was just sleeping, but then she passed away.

"Angel..."

A voice from the door, I quickly turn and find Freya approaching me with a sad look. I stand up immediately and hug her.

"Don't be afraid; he'll be fine. You have to believe that!" She comforts me, and I release my embrace. Unconsciously, I start crying again.

"Which parts were shot?" she asks, glancing at still-unconscious scious Charlie.
