The ordinary yet not so ordinary detective, Wen Wen, woke up in a mental hospital and discovered that his right hand was connected to a mysterious space called the 'Catastrophe Containment Facility,' from which he could acquire the powers of the monsters imprisoned within!
By capturing a vampire, he gained a formidable physique;
By capturing a ghost, he could turn invisible and pass through walls;
By capturing a fox spirit, he could charm the opposite sex...
In short, in order to obtain more powerful abilities, Wen Wen began to diligently capture monsters, thereby stepping into the strange world of superpowers and seeing the hidden truths behind the curtain...

PS1: Inspiration partly comes from the Cthulhu Mythos and the SCP Foundation, but I'm only borrowing some elements, not a direct copy, and I hope everyone likes it.

Wen Wen reminds me of Dexter or Hannibal. He puts up a facade when he is with others, but goes hunting behind the Hunters Association back (or at least tries to avoid their detection). He oozes villain and others sense it, yet can't really pinpoint how or why. All I can say is MC is crazy, doesn't simp, and doesn't shy away from challenges (unless his life is at risk).
The MC is both unhinged and extremely rational, so there’s never a boring or non-entertaining interaction or battle. The power system and monsters are all pretty varied and the plot development hasn’t been lacking so far. This novel does also have the he/she errors a lot of the newer novels on Webnovel are plagued with, so there are cases where this issue breaks immersion (or at least makes it hard to tell who tf is thinking/speaking)
I like the MC, Smart but kinda clutz & sociopath. Not arrogant but won't shy away in the fight, actually he is battle junkie and i like it.
