This time, Gu Yuan truly felt ashamed of Xun'er's unreasonable behavior.
As he recalled everything Xun'er had done, along with the efforts he made to protect her—going as far as forcing Gu Fei to delay the divorce—his scalp tingled with unease.
How many wrong decisions had he made because of Xun'er?
Gu Yuan shook his head helplessly, unwilling to intervene further to reconcile the two. He had already told Xun'er all the evidence he had personally gathered and recounted his conversation with the Gu demon.
Xun'er blushed slightly, realizing she might have wronged Gu Fei, but being as stubborn as ever, she refused to admit her mistakes. She merely snorted in dissatisfaction and walked away.
As she headed out, she happened to meet Gu Fei rushing into the hall.
The once-married couple crossed paths—one filled with dissatisfaction, the other entirely indifferent.
Xun'er paused, biting her lower lip as if she wanted to say something, but Gu Fei walked past her without so much as a glance, as though she didn't exist.
Of course, Gu Yuan noticed the scene at the door. He sighed and took a sip of tea, watching as Gu Fei approached the hall with a resolute expression.
Without much preamble, Gu Yuan asked gravely, "Do you truly want to separate from Xun'er?"
Gu Fei nodded firmly. "Yes."
Gu Yuan, hoping for one last chance, pressed further. "You won't regret this?"
Gu Fei hesitated for a moment.

Although Xun'er had been ignored by Gu Fei, for some reason, she stood stubbornly at the door, unwilling to leave. She wondered whether Gu Fei might go back on his word. The thought of being dismissed so easily angered her, but if Gu Fei reconsidered, she might be willing to forgive him.
Xun'er crossed her arms and fumed silently.
But Gu Fei's cold words shattered her hope.
"I will never regret it."
Xun'er's eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Gu Fei's back.
Gu Yuan opened his mouth to speak, but Xun'er cut him off, rushing forward to block Gu Fei's path.
"You... you really want to leave me?" she asked, her voice trembling.
Gu Fei finally turned to look at her for the first time that day. His gaze, once filled with love and tenderness, was now cold and distant.
"What else would you expect?"
Xun'er stood stunned, feeling regret for the first time in her life.

Gu Fei turned to leave, but she grabbed his sleeve, holding him back. He turned with an emotionless expression, only to see Xun'er, for the first time, crying before him. Even she seemed unsure of where her tears were coming from as she hurriedly wiped them away.
She looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, her face flushed with sorrow. Any man would have softened at the sight of such a beauty in tears.
But not Gu Fei. He calmly pulled his sleeve from her grip and waited for her to speak.
"I... I won't go to see Brother Xiao Yan anymore. Please, don't leave me. Brother Gu... Brother Gu Fei."
His expression shifted slightly at her words.
How long had it been since Xun'er last called him "brother"? And now, for the first time in ages, she was begging him to stay.
But the last shred of affection Gu Fei had for Xun'er was now utterly extinguished.
"No, Xun'er, you must understand. This decision was never mine to begin with."
With that, Gu Fei turned and slowly walked toward the door. His voice echoed faintly from the distance.
"Don't beg me anymore."
Though Gu Fei's figure was so close to her, Xun'er felt as if he were miles away, slipping further out of her reach.

Xun'er slumped into a nearby wooden chair, sadness written clearly in her eyes. She looked at her father.
"Dad... was I really wrong?"
Gu Yuan gazed at her deeply, but without saying a word, he walked away.
The events that transpired in the hall quickly spread. Xun'er's willfulness became the talk of the Gu clans, many of whom pitied Gu Fei for the burdens he'd endured.
Despite everything, Gu Fei remained an admired figure. Many women of the Gu clan saw him as an ideal match and began to vie for his attention now that he was free from Xun'er.
Whenever Gu Fei left the mountain in the following days, he would be surrounded by women—some sending him flowers, others who had grown up with him seeking his company. Even older women sought his favor, finding various excuses to approach him.

In the days that followed, admiration and emotions poured into Gu Fei's system like a steady stream.
One day, while he was cultivating in the mountains, even several Gu elders came to visit him, accompanied by two or three young women, who shyly peeked out from behind them, their eyes sparkling with admiration.
Gu Fei, no matter how oblivious, couldn't miss the fact that these visits were matchmaking attempts.
One elder patted his hand warmly, subtly praising his granddaughter's beauty and strength.
Gu Fei had faced many challenges, but nothing prepared him for the burning stares of these elders and girls. The intensity of their gaze, as though he were a rare treasure, left him feeling uneasy.
After finally sending them away, he sighed with relief.
Though their intentions were kind, Gu Fei found the situation overwhelming. Despite being surrounded by so many beauties, he had no interest in pursuing anyone.
Over the next few days, it became clear to him that his newfound popularity had drawn people toward him. However, despite their advances, he refused every offer.
For now, his focus remained on growing stronger. But with the stability of the Gu subworld and the lack of significant opportunities for emotional gains, his progress slowed.
If he wished to achieve his goals, he needed more than just cultivation resources. He needed challenges—opportunities that only the system could provide by accumulating emotional values.
After much thought, Gu Fei made up his mind. He would leave the Gu world and travel to the Northwest Continent.
