After Damien left the training hall, he immediately checked his system to see his reward.
[Ding: You have trained your body to the pinnacle.]
[Ding: You have gained 10 Free Attribute Points.]
A smile spread across his face as he left the village, eager to meet the level requirement for his next goal.
But as soon as he stepped beyond the beginner's village, the scene before him wasn't what he had expected.
The outskirts of the village were packed with players, most of them beginners like him.
The area, once teeming with low-level monsters perfect for levelling, now seemed barren.
Crowds of players had already taken down almost everything in sight, leaving nothing but a few empty fields.
He ventured deeper into the surrounding forest, keeping a close eye on his surroundings.
After a short walk, Damien used the system's basic skill, 'Inspect,' on a small creature that caught his eye.
___
[Harmless Rabbit]
[Level: 1]
[HP: 20]
___
Before he could even react, the rabbit was bombarded by a flurry of attacks from nearby players.
"FUCK!" Damien cursed under his breath. He had been too slow.
Realizing that staying near the village wasn't going to help him, Damien decided to head deeper into the forest, hoping to find monsters that others were avoiding.
As he walked, he overheard complaints from other players about the lack of magic classes in the game, but he paid them no mind.
He was focused.
Soon, Damien entered the territory of Level 5 monsters. He was in luck—this area was much less crowded.
Most players either didn't have the courage to venture this far or were busy grinding easier levels near the village.
He spotted a lone ferret, its brown fur blending with the forest floor. He used 'Inspect' once again.
___
[Ferret]
[Level: 5]
[HP: 100]
___
Without wasting time, Damien charged at the ferret, sword in hand. His first strike missed the head but still landed on the creature's neck.
-70
The damage number flashed above the ferret, and with a second strike, Damien finished it off.

Despite the victory, Damien's eyes drifted back to the corpse. His stomach churned as he stared at the blood.
Without warning, he vomited violently, collapsing onto the ground.
"Damn it," he muttered to himself, wiping his mouth. 'Damien Morningstar, the most talented youth of his generation, can't handle the sight of blood?'
After a few minutes of recovery, Damien steadied himself.
He hadn't taken a butchering class, which might have helped him get used to blood, but he didn't let that stop him.
He got back to his feet and returned to hunting.
Damien continued to kill ferrets, gaining both experience and confidence.
By the time he had killed nine more, he had levelled up to 7 and was halfway to 8.
Not only had he improved his sword skills, but he was also becoming more accustomed to the sight of blood.
However, as more players trickled into the area, Damien decided it was time to move even deeper into the forest, where the real challenges awaited.
After a while, he arrived at a more dangerous area—the territory of the Red-Eyed Wolves. These wolves were Level 10, and there was not a player in sight.
Damien used 'Inspect' on one of the wolves.
___
[Red-Eyed Wolf]
[Level: 10]
[HP: 300]
___
Picking up a rock, Damien hurled it at the nearest wolf.

The wolf growled in anger, its red eyes locking onto him as it charged. Damien, hidden in a nearby bush, quickly analysed the situation.
The wolf was faster than him, and there wasn't much time before it would sniff him out.
Acting quickly, he distributed his free attribute points.

[Free Attribute Points: 5]
[Strength: 15]

The sudden surge in power was just what he needed.
But as expected, the wolf's howl summoned another, and now two wolves were barrelling toward him.
Damien smiled. 'Finally, a real fight.'
The first wolf lunged at him from the left, swiping with its claws. Damien dodged to the right and countered with a punch to its head.

As the second wolf snapped at his waist, Damien backflipped out of the way, narrowly avoiding its fangs.
Landing gracefully, he slashed at the first wolf with his sword, cutting deep.
-50
The second wolf attacked again, its claws missing Damien by inches.
He retaliated with a well-timed strike to the wolf's side, dealing critical damage.
-100
Realizing they were outmatched, the wolves attempted to howl for reinforcements.
But Damien wasn't about to let that happen. He charged, attacking aggressively. With quick, calculated strikes, he finished them off.
[You have gained Exp.]
[You have levelled up.]
Damien took a moment to assess his gains before returning to the hunt.
*******
A few hours later, Damien finally reached Level 10.
He received a system notification for his advancement, a smile tugging at his lips.
He looked at the wolf carcasses, debating whether to leave them behind, but then decided to touch them, turning them into loot.
In Origin, there were two ways to collect loot: sell it directly to the system for a lower price, or trade it with others for a better value.
Selling directly was easier, but trading could be more profitable. In this case, Damien opted for convenience.
His spoils weren't exactly impressive, but they were still worth something.
From his fights with the wolves, he gained:
150 copper coins, 1 sword, and 20 wolf pelts.
Damien couldn't help but feel satisfied. His journey had only just begun, but already, he was making his mark.
