Sean felt the way Isaac must have when he whisked Isaac away to the beach. He climbed into Nick’s blue SUV with no idea where they were going, and Nick refused to tell him.
He jumped when Nick started the car and music blasted through the speakers. Apologizing, Nick lowered it to a more reasonable level.
“Why won’t you tell me where we’re going, again?” Sean asked. He didn’t care much for being on this side of the surprise. At least bringing Isaac to a beach had been something fun, and he’d given Isaac hints beforehand.
“Honestly, I don’t know what you’ll think of where he is, and I don’t want you backing out before we get there.”
“I won’t back out.”
“You say that now, but if you have time to think about it, you might.”
Sean tapped a finger on the arm rest. “Do you really think being cryptic helps?”
