Kapitel 15: Royal Car

May and Jaria's eyes fell on the fabric which Raziel had picked. "What did you pick, Raziel? That?" May asked, looking at the fabric in disgust.

"Yes, it's beautiful right?"

"It's not beautiful. Pick some other fabric," May answered.

"Why? This one looks good. What's wrong with it?" Raziel asked, confused as to why her sisters asked her to pick another fabric instead of this. This one looks good to her.

"There's nothing wrong with it but it just doesn't match a royal birthday party. Yellow is a dull color and it doesn't fit. Choose a brighter color. They are red, pink, orange, and lots of them better than yellow," May persuaded.

"But yellow is beautiful and bright. I don't see anything wrong with wearing yellow to a birthday party."

"Jaria please say something and don't let Raziel embarrass us with her dress on that day," May let out. "She should choose something else.

"Well, Raziel can wear whatever she likes, I don't care. I already choose the one I like so she can choose whatever. Since she chooses to be scolded by mother every time, then leave her," Jaria declared.

Raziel look at her sisters and shook her head. She turned to Rani and asked.

"Rani, is there something wrong with this color?"

"This dress is pretty but I haven't attended a royal birthday party in my life so I don't know what or which color fits the occasion."

"Okay, I'll take this fabric. It looks suitable to me," Raziel said handing over the dress to the seamstress.

The seamstress gathered the three dresses together and turned to the girls.

"I'll deliver them to your place when it's ready."

"Yes, well need it in a week. Oh, wait, Rani hasn't picked hers yet. What are you waiting for, Rani? Come forward," Raziel requested.

"What?" Jaria exclaimed. "Rani is only a maid and she's not allowed to go with her superiors to royal parties."

"But it's not wrong if she goes with us."

"She's just a maid, Raziel. A maid," May, added.

"According to the law of Daxtan, a maid is also part of the family," Raziel pressed.

"Look, I don't care, but we are not buying any dress for her."

"It's alright, Raziel, it's late. We should leave," Rani intervened to stop the argument between the three sisters. May who was facing Raziel immediately snapped her head to glare at her.

"You don't have an opinion here, Rani, and who asked you to call your superior by her name? It's milady to you."

"I asked her to. She's my maid and she can call me whatever she likes," Raziel defended.

"I wonder what's so special about her that you take her wherever you go, hrmp," she hrmp and they all walked out of the shop, and into their car. Raziel was sad she couldn't buy a dress for her friend. She'll try to convince her mother so Rani could tag along.

Their car stopped when the Royal car which was coming from the opposite direction, came into view. Every lady who was on the street stopped whatever they were doing just to gaze at the car with a large imprint of 'Royal' on it and they bowed their heads in respect. Raziel turned her head and her sisters pressed her with their bodies, just to catch a glimpse of the king whose car was passing at the spot where she sat and with his window, slide open.

The king raised his head from his tablet to look at his side and their eyes met for a second before his car fully passed by.

The Royal car stopped at the front of a shop and a man came out of the shop with a golden box and handed it over to the king who was seated at the back of his car.

"Why did he stop there?" Raziel thought as she stuck her face out of the window and stared attentively. The shop was owned by one of the most prominent blacksmiths in Daxtan. Is he perhaps a serial killer and he came here for weapons? And what's with the golden box?

"Oh my God, the king is so handsome," May exclaimed just as their car started moving again.

"Yeah, he's so handsome. I've never seen a more gorgeous person," Jaria added as they both cupped their faces and registered the king's face in their head.

......

When they got home, their mother was awaiting their return and she smiled as they entered the mansion.

"Did you girls get your desired dresses?" She asked.

"Yes we got it and the seamstress will deliver it soon. Mum, do you know what Raziel did today?" Jaria asked.

"What?"

"She picked a yellow colored gown for the royal birthday party. I told her to pick another, but she refused," May answered.

"It's my choice and I like the one I picked."

"It's not your choice, you are going to ruin the reputation of our family again," Jaria yelled, but Raziel shook her head in disagreement.

"I'm not going to ruin our reputation, yellow is a bright color and I only choose what I like. Since when is choosing one favorite color a crime?"

"Since you're being selfish and thinking only about yourself and not our reputation. You're being insensitive," Jaria spat.

"I'm not being insensitive, you are. I've never heard anyone say yellow is a dull color and besides you both picked your best color which is pink and I picked mine. So what's wrong?"

"Everything is wrong about it. Pink is suitable for a birthday party but yellow is not."

"It's suitable for a bir...."

"Enough you two. Ladies should not scream at each other like maniacs," their mother yelled. Jaria breathed heavily intending to control her anger and Raziel did the same, gathering her fingers together as she tried to stay calm.

"Mum, Jaria's point is that yellow is a dull color and so it doesn't fit the occasion and it might ruin our reputation but Raziel is so stubborn," May said.

Raziel blinked, unsure of what to reply to her sisters' accusations. To ruin the family's reputation was not her intention. Yellow is a bright color but despite this, she immediately felt guilty.

"You shut up too, May. Now, you three should go to your rooms and don't come out until I order you to," Rachel ordered and they quickly dispersed with visible anger written on their faces.
