Silas saw the change in my eyes and how his words took me completely off guard. They didn’t even make any sense. He reached for my hand. “Kat,” he murmured.
I pulled my hand away from him. “What the hell are you talking about? You can’t be serious. What am I, an item?”
Silas sighed and leaned back. “You’re reading too much into this.”
“Am I?”
“He’s angry that you know what we are. His pack still believes in silencing humans. I’m against it. I believe in keeping our identities a secret, but I do believe some humans can handle the truth. Times have changed, and people have evolved, but Tanner doesn’t feel the same way.”
“So, you’re going to fight him about killing me?”
“He’s challenging me to a duel, yes.”
