Kapitel 26: FURBALL
Dusk, the real name of the wolf. One of Shadow Claw's great warrior and Mark's older brother.
He was sent by Alpha Luke to his house to protect their future Luna. At first he was reluctant. He wants to refuse to be exact. But it was an Alpha's order besides their Luna is very important inside a Pack. She was equal to their Alpha. It's like a queen to a king. Though he hated the idea of having a human Luna. Without a single drop of wolf on her veins it's like tainting the purity of their pack. Every time his younger brother Mark comes home he kept talking about this Selena, their future Luna. How brave she is, how beautiful her heart is and a lot more. He thought maybe their Alpha was influencing his own pack to accept his human mate with no questions ask. If he will be asked he wants Amanda to be their Luna. She is a perfect match to their Alpha. Amanda is also a warrior and she is now a battalion leader.
Dusk was sent to their Alpha's house for more than a week. He always saw Selena in the kitchen preparing food but sometimes it was her mother who do it. One day a naughty thought crossed his mind. He wants to scare her a little bit by showing himself to her. But to his surprise she just stared at him and wave her hand. He growls a little and went back behind the trees. 'Bad idea he thought'. If she tell the Alpha about him he will be punished for good. He just waited for a summon and accept his punishment but days passed nothing happened. Everyday since then he stayed in front of the kitchen to watch her. He took it as his own punishment. But today is a very unusual day for him. She got outside and called for him she even have his favorite fried chicken on a plate. The smell was very tempting. He decided to go to her and take the food and leave but when she touched his fur a familiar feeling emit. It's like a mother's touch. The feeling he had when they were young. It's like the hand of his own mother touching him. Patting him to sleep.
"Aahhhh!". Selena screamed when she saw one of the vicious wolf tackled Dusk to the ground. He was bleeding.
"Stupid me!". He said to himself. 'Focused'. His wolf scold him. He felt pain and blood is flowing on his shoulder. He can't stand up properly.
"Furball!". Selena already named the wolf she petted earlier and she just screamed his pet name.
"Who is Furball?". Dusk asked his wolf.
'I think it was you'. His wolf said annoyingly. Then it growls that sounds like a laugh. They are still laughing in front of danger.
Dusk growl to his wolf. He was annoyed at him. Then he noticed Selena is still outside the house and it worries him.
The two vicious wolves looked at each other. They noticed Selena's guardian wasn't paying attention to them. They decided to attack him at the same time.
Dusk who was unaware of his two enemies plan felt a sudden danger. When he looked back at the two vicious wolves they were already flying towards him. Armed with their sharp claws they are ready to shred him to pieces. 'This is bad'. He heard his wolf said.
"Furball don't move!".
He heard Selena's voice.
"Attack now!".
Another order was given to him. He raised his head and saw the two vicious wolves frozen in the air. He was stunned for a moment until he heard his wolf growled. 'It's our chance attack now!'. He was also ordered by his own wolf.
Dusk's claw becomes sharper and big he didn't hesitate to give the two vicious wolves a good slit on their throat. The next thing they new they were laying on the ground, dying a painful death.
A sound of running paws took Dusk attention. 'Someone is escaping!'. His wolf said. He wants to go after the unscented thing but he heard Selena called him again.
"Furball, don't!". She said with an exhausting face. Her energy almost got drained.
Dusk hated the name she was calling him but he did still stay.
Selena went back inside the house but when she get out she's already holding a medicine kit. "Lay down and stay!". She ordered him with authority.
Dusk followed.
Selena applied some medicine to his shoulder then put some bandage on it. It took all the bandages inside the kit because Dusk's wolf's body is too thick. She patted his head after.
"You are such a brave boy. I'm so proud of you. You are a great warrior!". She was so grateful to him she gave him a kiss and a hug.
Dusk was surprised. 'Oh boy... Alpha Luke will going to kill us both!'. His wolf said with worry. They both know a wolf's jealousy is lethal. But they don't want to know how lethal the Alpha's jealousy is.
Selena was dumbfounded when her Furball suddenly run away from her. But she was enlightened when the wolf tried to drag the bodies of the other wolves back to the woods.
"Do you need help?". She asked him as if he will speak to her.
Another two wolves arrived and help Dusk to drag away the body. Selena froze seeing another wolves but she was relief when those wolves didn't attack Furball instead they helped him drag away those dead wolves.
"This place do have a lot of wolves around and they are very smart too!". She said to herself.
She just watched them until the three of them fade. She can only see trees and bushes now so she decided to go back and start cooking.
L. S. Corporation.
Dusk is standing in front of their Alpha. He is filling him information about the incident. Another wolves was assigned to guard Selena.
"What do you mean he doesn't have a scent?". Luke was curious. Everything in this world have a scent even water have one.
"I didn't even feel him. The only thing I heard is some branch cracking that's why I took a closer look to Miss Selena's place". Dusk addressed her with respect. He can't call her Luna yet because the process hasn't been made.
"How about the two wolves who attacked you. Don't they have a scent too?". Drew is also drilling some information. This is the first time they've heard of a scent less wolves.
"They have faint scents like oils and other beast".
"Oils?.... Beasts?". Luke's curiosity are more profound. He remembered a witch scent near their house when Selena was having a nightmare.
"Did you deal with the two scent less wolves by yourself?". Luke asked in curiosity. He knows Dusk is a son of one of his great warrior and he is following his father's footsteps just like his brother Mark. His spy and one of Selena's guardian in school.
"Yes I did!". He answered him. Then he saw a proud look in his Alpha's eyes. "And the future Luna helped me after". He said honestly. He won't take the credit for himself. He was taught to be honest specially to their Alpha.
Luke's face change. He spoke in a very serious tone. "How did she helped you?".
"I'm still not sure. The only thing I'm certain is, she told me not to moved and then I saw her beside me after that she ordered me to attacked while the two vicious wolves are frozen in the air". He said without even blinking.
"Did you tell anyone about this?".
"No, only the great Alpha and the Beta knows as of this moment". He said honestly.
"Don't tell anyone about her ability. It will put her more in great danger". Luke said with great worry in his eyes.
"The future Luna is very powerful but she is unmarked. Is the great Alpha hesitant to take her in?". Dusk didn't know where he get his courage to ask their Alpha but he is worried that someone might steal their future Luna away from them. It feels like a divorce will happen to their parents but they haven't married yet.
Luke chuckled. He looks like a worried kid with a divorcing parents in front of him. "Don't worry my young warrior when the right time comes she will be the whole packs mother".
Dusk grin in happiness. He can sense Selena's big heart just like what Mark always told them. Having a powerful but loving Luna will make their pack perfect.
Luke sent Dusk back to Stronghold Village. He needs to recover. The wound in his shoulder is quite big and it will need days to heal.
"I'm glad you didn't skin him alive!". Drew slyly grinning at his Alpha.
He knows what his Beta is talking about. There's a lingering scent of his Mate in the boy's body. Selena probably petted him. She said those words before, how cute those wolves and how she wants to pet them.
"I'm still grateful to him. He saved my Mate's life. My jealousy is for nothing if something happened to her". Luke said in a mild tone.
"True in deed!". Drew said to him with admiration. Every wolf is greedy when it comes to their mate but his Alpha still have some common sense and still think in the right way. Jealousy won't be good if you're a leader. "But I am very curious about the scent less wolves". He became serious.
"I think witches have something to do with them". Luke have a hunch but he still needs to prove them.
