Kapitel 23: Twenty-Three

Rose walked alongside Charlie who was radiating quiet anger. “I’m sorry I wasn’t much help.” She offered.

“It’s not your fault, it’s mine.”

“Well she’s not against your idea, she just said it’s highly unlikely the treaty’s terms will change without the blessing of the other sovereigns.”

“Which just means we’ll have to take our case to them.” Charlie said. “I’m not against facing them all individually to re-think the terms of the treaty. We already have a universal currency and established trade. We don’t need marriages to define our relationship to each other.”

“We could sail to South Lonister, take a train to Mersabel, and Vallmoor.” Rose suggested.

“In that order?” Charlie joked.

“Well Queen Eris would have to offer up someone for our kid to get married to. She’s single and childless so the pressure would go to her after we got married. Or her younger sister.” Rose stated.

“So, getting her to vote against the treaty will most likely be easy.” Charlie mused.
