I looked at the clock and noted the time. It was past midnight. I hit upload and waited for the confirmation that I have published the latest chapter online.

The readers are steadily growing, I smiled as I patted myself in the back for a job well done.

I heard the heavy fall of footsteps that stopped in front of our bedroom.

Like a silly child who has a sixth sense, I instantly knew it was Jiro.

He opened the door, almost dragging his feet to reach the bed. He lied down instantly, without any greetings, just obviously drunk.

He has been like this ever since last month. And my heart breaks knowing it's all coming down to how it had been before.

The same pattern, just a different setting. And somehow the same heartbreak.

I tried to help him lie down properly by fixing the pillow under his head and trying to change his clothes.
