Kapitel 212: Precious

Gustav didn't have time to say anything. Karol Krosny was faster than him.

"I don't know your story, but I can see that you have one," sighed David's father, leading him to a nearby greenhouse. "But I can also see that you care about my kid. An d you care about him a lot."

It sounded like a continuation of their conversation during the festivities.

"Don't get so tense," smiled Karol comfortingly. "Take it slow. Maybe I talked a little too much about responsibility and building a future together. I scared you with that, I guess."

No, that's not it, Gustav is not afraid of building a future together, he's afraid that this future is just a dream, a fatamorgan. That's stupid, he thought, after all, he trusts David, trusts his decision, but....

"Maybe a little," he lied. That was the only lie. His next words were solely the truth. "I want to give happiness to David, but I'm afraid I won't be able to give it to him. He is so precious, and I..."
