THIRD PERSON'S POV
Maverick looked at the girl in his arms.
She was sleeping peacefully.
After three hours of coaxing her, comforting her that no one would touch or hurt her and that there were no demons who would take her away, she was finally asleep.
It was the first time that behind her casual smiles, his woman held such deep pain that no one would have guessed about.
She told him about the torture she went through inside the Hazel Moon Pack. How the parents, even if adoptive, who were supposed to protect her, pushed her into it and were the ones to reject her.
Anger consumed his heart, and even though he was trying his best to stay calm because he didn't want Valencia to sense it, he was actually on the verge of going to the Hazel Moon Pack and destroying everything they ever held close to their hearts.
Like their alpha, their beta's real daughter, and most importantly, that unborn kid.
