I looked at him wide-eyed.

He just didn't dare to raise his hand on a human! At a HUMAN party!!

"Is that punch enough to snap you out of your anger, Aiden? Look at what you were doing?" Shadow said to Aiden before he turned to me and immediately held my good hand, pulling me close to himself.

"Why did you let him hold you in the first place? Have you not learned your lesson already?" He asked.

My heart thumped against my chest. I was well aware that Carl was also here.

And I didn't want him to say anything that would get us into a problem.

"Valencia, what did I say about getting hurt?" Carl asked, looking at Shadow with a weird expression before he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of Shadow's grip, my shoulder hitting his chest as he almost engulfed me in his warm embrace.
