This seems a bit cliched?

(??? POV, ???)

People die if they are killed, bless that faker's poor soul, no words could describe my current situation as that silly sentence had. One second I was babysitting my little brothers trying to stop them from their never-ending arguments, the next second I found myself lying on the ground and unresponsive to those around me.

So the question is; what killed me? Was it shot to the head from a burglary gone wrong? did I suddenly develop powers that stimulated my body to the point of death? Or had covid finally gotten to me after months of paranoid isolation… 'No, apparently it was a heart attack according to the old geezer in front of me'.

"You do realize that I can peer into your mind?" stated the Gandalf look-alike who had just appeared in front of me.

"Yes, I was hoping you'd not old man, aren't you worried about being in the mind of a hormonal teenager, I heard it was a very disgusting area to be in" was my retort.

"Firstly, I've assumed this form as it seems to work best in putting you at ease and secondly, you are 20 years old, not exactly a teenager, and finally I've seen worse".

Deciding to concede to his point, I moved on "Fair enough, so I assume by your appearance that this will be a cliched ROB situation, and if so what's the catch".

"Straight to the points, how refreshing, usually they're weeping and moaning, or try to threaten me to send them back…" muttered the old man, before continuing "I'm here for a simple reason; in exchange for a few perks and abilities, I'll require your aid in saving a world".

"Which world, what's the threat, and what would happen to me if I refused?" I popped off questions like a rapper wannabe. After all, I needed more information on what exactly I'm getting into, if I agree that is.

"ASOIAF, it would be a mix of the books and the show, with the danger being the white walkers, as for refusing, I'd just wipe your memories clean and chuck you into the reincarnation cycle".

"Considering present circumstances, I would assume that other universes, parallel dimensions, timelines, and all the jazz exist, at least some of them should have white walkers winning and taking over the planet, so what makes this particular world special that it needs saving?" I inquired, intrigued by the apparent importance of that backwater hellhole.

His response took a few minutes, it seemed that the old man was pondering on how he could best explain it to me, eventually, he seemed to have come up with an idea.

I didn't like the smirk he was sending my way, when out of nowhere I felt my mind being bombarded with images and scenes, what I witnessed quite definitely terrified me.

I could see hundreds of thousands of portals opening randomly across countless planets as millions of undead poured into unsuspecting realms, causing pure death and destruction, every death seemingly adding to their numbers as pale blue eyes seemed to observe it with a harsh yet satisfied glint, unconcerned with the sheer devastation it unleashed.

"Morgan's supple tits, since when could those pale popsicles travel through worlds?" I exclaimed, clearly shaken by what I just witnessed.

"After conquering Planetos, it seems the night king had gained a death divinity, normally that wouldn't matter, as other gods had risen similarly, unfortunately through the use of some unknown methods, the night king gained the ability to travel through various worlds within that universe, eventually gaining enough power to break through universal barriers and doing the same to other universes" He then pauses before continuing with "as you have seen this would be quite troublesome by itself, yet the true issue occurs when he raises his undead, as this traps the souls into their bodies, preventing them from entering the reincarnation cycle which would cause a genuine collapse in the laws that operate this particular multiverse".

Completely ignoring the implications of his final words, I couldn't help but ponder on why he doesn't just snap them out of existence, but then I realize considering the present circumstance I'm in that more than likely there are laws in place that prevent him from doing so, so he needs a proxy to do it him, ergo you have me.

Nodding in agreement to my thoughts the old man then proceeded to question me on my decision "I assume you'll be accepting the quest"

Naturally, I agreed, forget the ice zombies, this was a genuine chance for me to learn about whole new civilizations and cultures, the amateur historian within me demanded I agree, not to mention dragons and women, but mostly dragons… as a former respectable chuuni, I could never turn down a shot at having my dragon.

My first question after agreeing was "How will the whole perks and abilities thing work, do I get to choose them or are they random and how are you going to send me there?".

"They'll be chosen through a random wheel, though anything you gain will relate to your past experiences and overall character, you'll be reincarnated before the night king attacks so you best be prepared" was his response.

Shortly after, a rather unremarkable wheel appeared in front of me, before I could say anything he began spinning the damn thing. Every time it stopped, instead of letting me see it, he spun again, leaving me quite confused until finally the last spin was done.

Seeing my confusion, he decided to explain "I've done this several times and I prefer just getting the spins over and done with before I show you what you got".

"Show?" That was my bemused response. Only for my mind to get bombarded again by the geezer, this time instead of scenes I'm shown words and then an explanation of what those words meant directly below them.

Charismatic - You have a compelling charm that draws in both nobles and commoners alike, inspiring devotion and loyalty wherever you go.

=======

"Bloody Hell, those are some fantastic perks, you said these abilities relate to me in one way or another, what did you mean by that?" I asked.

"Mhm, for abilities its more in connection to your beliefs and attitude, adaptability comes from your adjustment to most events or situations you find yourself in, a rather common trait that can found within humanity where's Lord of Nature has to do with your belief in nature's importance" pausing for a second to let me ingest that information, he then proceeds with his explanation "As for perks, they come from your preferences and behavior, all-tongue comes from your stint as an amateur historian, a strategist from your of the habit of planning for most your actions and what you learned from your kin".

"I guess it makes a bit of sense" Speaking about family, who am I going to get reincarnated to, as I'll need an army to deal with the white walkers?

As expected the old man was still peeking into my mind, so he answered my mental question rather quickly "You'll be reincarnated as a Mudd, those two Mudds that should have been part of the golden company will be actual Mudd descendants".

"Shouldn't they be dead, considering the Andals are unlikely to let go of their hate boner for first-men claimants?" I asked, genuinely confused.

"Oh they survived and thrived, just between you and me, I had to pull in a favor from Luck to ensure they survived" A knowing grin was on his face.

"Wouldn't it have been better to just reincarnate me into another established Great House, instead of putting me in an exiled one?"

"Probably, but where the fun in that, not to mention with the situation you'll find yourself in, your status as an exile would be quite meaningless." He was rather smug about it.

Before I could demand an explanation of what he meant by that I started to notice parts of my body beginning to disappear, despite panicking inwardly, I couldn't help but say "Old Man, I don't feel so good".

Ignoring what I said the old man simply responded with "It seems our time is up, I hope you succeed and a fair warning most of the information regarding canon will be useless".

With visible confusion on my face, I tried to ask "What do you mean canon know…" before everything blacked out.
