67.5% Ascension of the Lightning God / Chapter 54: The Council - 2

Kapitel 54: The Council - 2

With the Admiral Kong and Professor Johnson coming in and out and in and out and then being escorted back to the cell Marcus was a bit confused. Did he say something wrong? He hoped he didn't. Either way, like Xiao Mei, said, if they don't let them go, they will break out.

So to kill time until then, he will practice. His energy is slowly rising, but he will need to find a way to strengthen his body as well. And he has a few ideas for doing that.

First, he would train. Just standard physical training, and with the Everlasting Some regenerating his body so quickly it will give him results immediately. But to get any substantial results at least a day of training would be a minimum, and it would get longer as he progressed.

His second idea was to use his energy. Marcus already did his research and to strengthen muscle with physical training he has to damage the muscle tissue. So if he can replicate that using energy, in other words changing a small amount of energy into lightning inside his muscles, with Everlasting Soma regenerating his muscles, it will be working really well. It is faster than physical training but still slower than the Divine Body Modelling.

For now, his options are limited, if he had spiritual stones, it would have been nice, but he used all of the resources to buy the Everlasting Soma.

The UN Council was created when the countries of Gaia united. Their purpose is to govern the UN and all of its territories, they decide the future of the UN. And now they are standing before a difficult decision that can determine the very future of not only UN but also the whole solar system.

When Professor Johnson brought the space distortion and how it could be caused by the use of a gate that can transport people over any distance. And they sent Admiral Kong not only because there was a small chance of it being an inversion. But because they knew that if it is possible, he will be able to secure that technology. They didn't have to tell him that though.

But now they have to decide what to do with two people from another dimension, which at least one of them has superpowers.

"I don't think we should do anything to them. If they can make a gate, there is nothing stopping the other side to make one here. There is nothing we can do about it. What we can do is to make sure that they don't have a reason to attack, and who knows they can be our allies in the future."

"God damn it, Veronica, you always were too scared, these two want to build a gate back to their world! When they go back can you make sure that they won't come back? That they won't bring back an army with them? We have to no idea what motives they have, and if they die who is going to know who killed them."

"Not everyone is like you Dominick, a war maniac."

Veronica and Dominick are two of the five council members, they have very different ideas, Veronica prefers to resolve problems with a conversation, she is the voice of the council. Her words stopped the war with Der planet from breaking out many times.

Dominick, on the other hand, is a strategist, the best one you can find in the entire UN, his deployment of ships allowed UN to keep their territory safe from more than one threat, he is the shield of the UN.

"You two are at it again? It doesn't help us in any way, so you either say something helpful or stay quiet. We don't know enough to make a good decision, so here is what we should do, talk with them get more information. You all heard what Admiral Kong said, he knows how to build a gate back to his world, just imagine how it could help us with the development of our space technology."

"Talk with them? Maybe you want to do it face to face Morgan?" Said Dominick with his sarcastic voice.

"I agree, and I'm sure that's others will also do it."

"We can talk with them."

"I also agree."

Seeing the other four members agree Dominick could only sigh and agree as well. There is no point in arguing, and more information is always a good thing.

And so twenty minutes later Xiao Mei and Marcus were standing before the holograms of the five council members. All of them except for one were in their fifties to sixties. There was one in his twenties, Morgan, he was elected by the people to be a part of the council member three years ago. At that time he was only twenty-two. But his influence was huge even before he was elected as an official council member. He was a political and economic figure that has risen to power in recent years.

His business that is now controlled by his younger brother is one of the most powerful corporations. But Morgan wanted more, not more power, but to help people more.

"Xiao Mei, Marcus, you two made a huge ruckus. I'm Morgan; hopefully, we can have a chance to talk informally in the future, but now we need to ask you a few questions. Well to be honest quite a few questions. So if you can be honest with us, we will appreciate it."

"That's not a problem, we got here by accident and all we want is to go back." With Xiao Mei and Marcus being not sure what do they want the long session of questions started.

"To begin with, can you tell me about the place you are from? How many countries are there? Who is ruling them, how are they interacting? Things like this."

At this point, Marcus knew that he will be of little help here.
