"My room's messed up. I need to clean it up."
Dara went upstairs to ask the maid help her clean her room, "I was wondering if you could help me clean my room."
"Sure Dara. Just let me finishes the dishes and I'm there." the maid replied.
Dara came back to her room and lay down on her bed. She pulled the pillow towards her to cuddle it and she saw her diary under it. She picked it up, "It's no use writing this anymore." She put it in a small plastic bag with the mirror and the cards too which were in her study table.
"Your room's really a mess." the maid entered.
"Well I suppose it is." Dara smiled while putting the bag in her side drawer.
The maid went to the bed and started sorting out the bed sheet.
"Let me help you with that." Dara uttered while sorting out the other side of the bed.
"No it's okay." the maid uttered, "You should go get ready for the funeral while I clean your room. Your grandfather's not expecting you to be late."
Dara pulled out her wig and put in on her dressing table. She then took out a black dress from her closet and went inside the bathroom for a shower. Under the shower Dara could only think of William, "Is he ignoring me? Does he know that I was that thing which ate that girl and he's trying to protect me? Was he the one who saved me from those wolves who were chasing me?" Dara was so confused.
She wore her dress. It was black and it reached till her knees. It looked gorgeous on her. She wore a thin golden necklace in the neck which made the dress look more vibrant. She made some loose curls of her wig and wore it. She wore black pumps made of velvet below the dress. She put on some mascara, some gloss on her lips and some pinch of blush on. "I think I look good enough." she said to herself while looking at the mirror.
"Dara master is calling you." the maid called Dara from upstairs.
"I'm coming!" Dara told.
Dara took out the plastic bag from the drawer and went upstairs.
"Looking good young girl." Stephen was at the door.
"As I am your granddaughter I always look pretty." Dara smiled at her grandfather.
"What's that in your hand?"
"Just some junk. I'll throw it in the dustbin outside."
They both went outside the house. The limousine was waiting for them at the door. Dara threw the bag in the dustbin, "It's a goodbye Wade!" and sat in the car.
Although she loved William now, she still couldn't stop thinking about Wade. The car stopped in front of the graveyard. There were a lot of people there. This was because all the people of the island combined at any occupation. Dara got out of the car with her grandfather. As her grandfather somehow owned the island, everyone gave a lot of protocol. Dara couldn't find William at the funeral nor could she find any of his friends.
It was getting dark. The moon was out now. Just after some minutes, Dara started feeling dizzy. It felt like she was about to change into that monster again. She could see hair growing on her hand, her arms, and her legs and soon on her face too. What could she possibly do? There were a lot of people there.
She slowly dragged herself out from those people and she ran. As she ran she transformed completely into that enormous wolf again. She ran into the jungle so that she would not harm any other kid. She ran here and there in the jungle. Everything seemed like she was in her same dream. She was completely lost and was trapped in the jungle. Soon she started to hear wolves howling. They were about to come out.
Dara had to run. She had to run really fast because she knew she was dead if the wolves saw her. She couldn't also go on the streets because people would kill her if they saw her there.
"Dara listen to me." she heard someone. She looked around and saw something running really fast around the woods. She howled. "You need to stay quiet. Run to your room. Run as fast as possible else they'll kill you. Don't let anyone see you." that voice said. Soon the voice was gone and that thing running around the woods disappeared.
As she had no other choice, she ran outside the woods. People were in their houses by now because no one wanted to die in the claws of a wolf. Suddenly she saw another wolf on the street and she stopped. The wolf didn't see her.
"Shhh stay quiet." someone whispered from behind.
Dara turned around and saw Charles standing. Dara was shocked to see him. "Follow me." he whispered again. He started to walk slowly and Dara walked behind him on four legs. They walked slowly and stayed hidden form the wolves. She was carving for blood and flesh but something resisted her to have Charles as her feast. Soon they reached Garland's house garden. Dara started to transform into a girl again.
Charles grabbed her in his arms. She was dizzy. Her head was spinning. He opened the window of her room and took her inside. He made her lay down on the bed and put the blanket on her. He went out from the room through the door.
Dara wanted to stop him from going outside the room but she couldn't her body shivered and her head was spinning. She wasn't able to move.
After sometime Charles came back with a glass of warm milk. He helped Dara sit and help her drink the milk. Dara felt much better after drinking the warm creamy white milk.
"You knew I was a monster." Dara sighed.
"You're no monster Dara." Charles put his hand on her cheek.
"Haven't you seen it from your own eyes. I killed two kids." Dara cried.
"Dara there are things you don't know about this place."
"What things?"
"You should get some sleep now. I'll tell you everything in the morning."
"But I…"
"No buts girl. You are going to sleep now and I'll be here on this chair so that i can control you when you turn back into a wolf."
"I need to change my clothes." Dara uttered, "I can't just sleep naked."
"I'll get them for you." Charles got up from the chair and went to the closet. He took out a t-shirt and a pair of trousers. "Are these okay?" he asked while showing them to Dara.
"Yeah they're fine." Dara smiled.
Charles turned the other side while Dara changed her clothes. Dara's eyes caught on her wig on the floor with her torn out dress.
"You still look beautiful." Charles said as he sat on the chair again. "Why do you even wear a wig?" he asked.
"People don't like my hair being honest. They think I look stupid with them."
"You look as beautiful as ever Dara." Charles held her face with his hands. Their faces were too close to each other. Dara held her hands up to pull off his mask but he instantly grabbed her hands. "I think you should sleep now." he said.
Dara laid back down on the bed and turned off the lamp. Charles took his shirt off, "I have this habit of sleeping shirtless." he chuckled.
"No worries." Dara uttered, "You can sleep on the bed with me." she said.
"I'm good here."
Dara held his hand and uttered, "Please Charles, I want you to sleep beside me on the bed."
Charles got up and laid down beside Dara on the bed. Dara faced the other side and Charles was straight facing the roof. Dara picked her phone up to check if William had texted her and she was not happy to see no text from him. "Not even a single text. Why is he being like this?" she thought. She texted him, "Good night love."
She faced Charles and went close to him. She put her head on his shoulder and one of her arms on his bare chest. She started moving her hand on his chest.
"Slow down girl, I won't be able to resist you." Charles smirked.
"Were you the one who saved me last night?" Dara asked.
"I saw you transforming back last night. You fell down and went out of count. You were also injured badly. I couldn't resist helping you."
"Thank you Charles. Thank you for being there for me."
"I won't let anything happen to you Dara." Charles looked at her and pulled off her hair from her face.
"This is what Wade used to say and today he's not even here." Dara chuckled.
It was dark in the room. They could not see each other's faces so Charles pulled off his mask, kissed her forehead and said, "Don't worry everything will be alright soon."
Dara leaned closer to kiss him on the lips but he pulled himself back. "I'm sorry I can't do this." he uttered.
"Goodnight Charles!" Dara kissed his cheek and cuddled him more tightly. Soon they both were asleep in each other's arms.
