Golden energy surged through the wound, spreading cracks through the creature's body as it howled in defiance.

Elara, meanwhile, had drawn her skeleton far enough away to deal with it one-on-one. She fired another light-infused arrow into its eye socket, temporarily blinding it. As it swung blindly, she nimbly dodged its attacks, moving in close to slice through its Achilles tendon with her dagger. The skeleton collapsed to one knee, and Elara wasted no time. She leaped onto its back, driving her dagger into its spine with a surge of magic, causing the skeleton to explode into a shower of bone fragments.
