"What's her name?"
It was obvious that this photo was not taken recently. The corners of the photo had already turned yellow.
"Li Ran."
The big guy took the photo and looked at it a few more times. Then, he said helplessly, "Brother Nan does not actually have a photo of his wife. This photo is from Li Ran's father. It was taken about seven or eight years ago."
Li Hui paused and nodded.
"She's very beautiful."
"Of course. That's apparent."
The big guy glared at Li Hui. Her tone when she said that sounded as if she was mocking Li Ran rather than praising her.
Li Hui did not mind. She turned around and walked out.
Li Hui had seen many beautiful women. The women her father brought back home were all beautiful and had their own merits. Otherwise, they would not even get the chance to enter her house.
However, Li Ran's beauty was more sophisticated.
The big guy carefully put away the photo in his pocket. His Brother Nan rarely ever gave him any tasks. However, when Lin Nan does, he would take it upon himself to complete it.
The big guy would treat it as the utmost important matter.
...
Li Ran sat in her car for a while after driving a short distance. Her eyes were scanning the surroundings. She was afraid that Cui Chong would chase after her or that someone would follow her.
Fortunately, there was no one.
About ten minutes later, she started the car again and drove off.
'She left very quickly.'
The woman holding a gun thought to herself.
'Should I admire or laugh at her?'
Although the men in her base could be vulgar at times, they had a professional team to search for food.
Previously, they managed to secure a large supermarket. There was enough food for everybody.
Besides, in the current situation, it would be tough for anyone to survive by themselves.
"She really left?"
"Yes," the woman answered.
The car was out of sight.
The man who asked the question then punched a sandbag nearby. He looked disappointed. Gritting his teeth, he said, "I thought that she would be reluctant to leave. I can't believe I lost the bet."
"Betting is fine but don't overdo it," said the woman softly.
The man said with a sad face, "Don't ridicule me."
...
Li Ran suddenly heard a loud noise from the skies.
It was a plane and it was flying quite low from the ground!
The noise made all the zombies in that area restless and the atmosphere became tense.
Li Ran was about to speed up and leave the place when a few pieces of paper fell from the skies and onto her windshield!
There was some information written on it!
'Safety base at eastern suburb grassland.'
Li Ran narrowed her eyes.
"Wouldn't it be dangerous to find survivors using such methods?" Li Ran said out loud.
Suddenly, she heard another loud noise from behind her car.
It was a truck with speakers attached to it.
"Safety base at eastern suburb grassland! National support! Enter with ease!"
"..."
They finally stopped after repeating those sentences three times.
Li Ran decided to head towards the eastern part of the city.
There must be communication tools at the safety base. Besides, it would definitely be better than her wandering aimlessly.
Li Ran turned her car towards the east.
The number of zombies that had gathered was terrifying.
Even an army might not be able to deal with them.
It was the first time that Li Ran saw so many zombies at one spot. There were hundreds of them.
It was obvious what attracted the zombie.
They were following the direction of the plane.
Luckily, the zombies were still quite a distance from her. Moreover, the plane was so loud that they could not hear the sound of her car.
She drove directly to the east of the city.
There was not much gas left in her car and there were no gas stations around either.
Li Ran was placing all her hopes on this trip.
If she failed to find the base, she might lose her only means of transportation.
Li Ran gripped the steering wheel tightly. Her eyes were focused on the road in front of her.
Meanwhile, on the plane...
Li Hui looked outside through the window. She had taken many private planes before, but this was the first time she had to take such a noisy one. She felt that her brain was about to explode.
