The girl's body convulsed as the current surged through her veins.

Her muscles spasmed uncontrollably, and her mouth opened in a silent scream.

For a moment, hope flashed in Liang's eyes. A surge of energy erupted from the girl's body, briefly illuminating the room.

The researchers stepped back in awe, but the light quickly faded, leaving only the faint sound of the girl's labored breathing.

The assistant checked the monitors, shaking his head.

"No change, Doctor. Her body is failing."

Liang stared at the girl, her jaw clenched in frustration. The experiment had failed. All the resources, all the time spent—and still no result.

"Terminate the procedure," Liang said coldly. "She's of no use to us."

The assistants exchanged uneasy glances but obeyed the order.

The electrodes were carefully removed, and the straps unbuckled.

The girl's limp body was dragged off the bed and laid on a stretcher.
