Kapitel 102: The Path of Persistence

Haruto sat quietly in his room, the dim light casting long shadows as he reflected on the path he had walked so far. The system that had been with him since his reincarnation wasn't something he fully understood, but he knew one thing: it responded to his effort, rewarding him for the work he put in. The rewards had come regularly, every six months, shaping his growth. But as he thought back on it, two things stood out—the first reward, which hadn't been his choice, and the decisions he made regarding his golden rewards.

His first reward had come without his input. He had been granted physical control enhancement, which at the time had puzzled him. He hadn't chosen it, but as the months passed, he realized how crucial it had been. Learning to adapt to this new body, gaining control over movements, and pushing through the limitations of his young age—it was all made easier with the enhanced control the system had provided. Though subtle, this first reward had become a cornerstone of his development, allowing him to gain mastery over his own body early on.

When the system began giving him choices, Haruto found himself faced with a decision that would set the tone for his training. The obvious choice would have been chakra sensitivity—after all, in a world where chakra was everything, having heightened sensitivity seemed like a no-brainer. But Haruto wasn't one to rely on short-term gains. He was a fighter, someone who understood that power without endurance was useless. In his past life as an MMA fighter, he had learned that you needed a body that could handle the grind—muscles that could withstand pain, lungs that could push through exhaustion. So, when it came time to choose, he focused on building up his stamina and sharpening his cognitive abilities.

The Tier 2 Stamina reward allowed him to recover more quickly from intense training, giving him the ability to train harder and longer than most Genin. It wasn't just about being strong; it was about endurance, about being able to keep going when others had to stop. And in a world of shinobi, stamina wasn't something you could overlook. Haruto understood that surviving the grind meant more than just power—it meant lasting longer than anyone else, and his body had to be ready for that.

His Tier 2 Cognitive Ability was just as important. Haruto knew that brute force wasn't the only way to win in this world. In a place full of hidden dangers, complex ninjutsu, and endless layers of tactics, a sharp mind was essential. The enhanced cognitive ability helped him process information faster, learn techniques more quickly, and strategize with a level of precision most Genin could only dream of. It gave him an edge in planning, in adapting to new situations, and in understanding the deeper complexities of his training.

Then there were the golden rewards. The first of these had been a game-changer: Ninjutsu mastery. It allowed him to understand and perform non-elemental ninjutsu with ease, something that had greatly boosted his ability to master the foundational techniques of a shinobi. While the reward didn't extend to elemental jutsu he had no affinity for, it still gave him a significant edge, particularly in tactical ninjutsu and medical techniques. This choice aligned with his philosophy: build a solid foundation before reaching for the more specialized skills.

The second golden reward, Two Minds, was perhaps the most significant. The ability to split his mind into two separate entities had changed everything. It allowed him to focus on two different tasks simultaneously—one mind could be locked onto a specific jutsu, while the other remained aware of his surroundings. This gave him a huge advantage in both training and combat, allowing for faster, more complex moves without losing focus. Even more impressive was the ability to combine the two minds into a hyper-focused state, granting him enhanced comprehension when learning or executing complicated techniques.

Reflecting on his journey so far, Haruto knew that these choices had made him who he was. He wasn't the strongest Genin, nor the fastest, but he had built a foundation that would allow him to outlast and outthink his opponents. The system had given him tools, but it was his understanding of the long game—the need to balance body and mind—that had set him on the path to real power.

As he sat there, Haruto knew he had made the right choices. The system wasn't about giving him everything on a silver platter; it was about rewarding his effort, his persistence. And with each reward, he grew a little closer to mastering this world.
