Kapitel 73: Presentation

Haruto woke up early the next morning, feeling the crispness of a Konoha Sunday. Today wasn't just any day—it was the day he set things in motion. After two weeks of intense research, training, and meticulous preparation, he was finally ready to present his theory to Tsunade.

It was Sunday, which meant he had the whole day to focus. No Academy lessons, no other obligations except for his usual light morning workout and his volunteer hours at the hospital. But today, he wasn't just going to work his usual shift—he had a plan.

The Morning Routine

Haruto started his day with his usual light workout, pushing the Weighted Seal to 2x resistance as he moved through his regimen. He still felt the familiar pull of resistance, but it had become manageable with his body's adaptation. Even as he worked through his training routine, his mind was on what came next—what he would say to Tsunade, how he would explain his theories in a way that made sense without sounding like pure conjecture.

After a quick shower and a hearty breakfast, Haruto packed his thesis into a folder, carefully rolling up the diagrams he had drawn to support his theories. He slipped the folder into his bag and set out for the hospital, the cool morning air filling his lungs as he walked through the streets of Konoha.

At the Hospital

The hospital was quiet on Sundays, with fewer staff and patients around. Haruto had timed his arrival perfectly, knowing that Tsunade often spent time at the hospital on her off days, overseeing complex cases and checking in on critical patients.

As Haruto made his way through the familiar corridors, he spotted Shizune, Tsunade's ever-dutiful assistant, making her rounds. Over the past few months, Haruto and Shizune had started talking more whenever they crossed paths. While their conversations were always professional, they often found moments to chat during Haruto's breaks from his volunteer duties.

Shizune was surprisingly intelligent and funny, with a quick wit that made their conversations enjoyable. Haruto found himself looking forward to their exchanges. Despite the seriousness of the hospital setting, Shizune had a way of lightening the mood, offering a fresh perspective or a well-timed joke that made the day seem a little less intense. It wasn't lost on Haruto that she was growing into someone who was not only sharp and capable but would definitely be attractive as she got older.

How could Haruto not enjoy her company?

Still, he kept things professional between them, never letting his thoughts linger on anything inappropriate. Today, though, there was more than just small talk on his mind.

He waved her over, a little more nervous than usual. "Shizune-san," Haruto began, keeping his voice steady. "I was wondering if I could speak with Tsunade-sama today. I've been working on something I'd like her to see—something related to medical ninjutsu."

Shizune raised an eyebrow, clearly curious but cautious. "What is it about?"

Haruto held up the folder. "It's a theory I've been working on. I think it could improve how we treat severe burn victims. It's all based on my research and understanding of chakra. I'd like her to take a look."

Shizune studied him for a moment, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "You've been working hard at the hospital, Haruto. Tsunade-sama has a lot on her plate, but…" She paused, glancing at the folder. "I'll see if she has time to review your work."

The Meeting with Tsunade

Haruto waited outside Tsunade's office, his nerves buzzing. He had been mentally preparing for this moment for weeks, but now that it was here, presenting his theories to Tsunade, the greatest medical-nin in the world, felt much more daunting.

After a few minutes, Shizune returned and waved him into the office. "She'll see you now."

Haruto stepped into Tsunade's office, his heart beating a little faster. Tsunade sat behind her desk, her sharp eyes immediately locking onto him. She was just as imposing in person as she was in reputation. Despite her legendary status, she had a calm but commanding presence, which made Haruto feel the weight of her attention.

"So, you're the one volunteering at the hospital and asking to see me," Tsunade said, sounding more curious than annoyed. "What is it you want to show me?"

Haruto bowed slightly in respect. "Yes, Tsunade-sama. I've been working on a theory related to treating severe burn victims. I've written everything down here." He gently placed the folder on her desk.

Tsunade's eyes flicked to the folder, but she gestured for him to continue.

Taking a deep breath, Haruto began explaining his ideas. He detailed the current methods used to treat burn victims and outlined the limitations he had observed. Then, he dove into his theoretical solutions—using chakra to sterilize wounds at a deeper level, preventing fluid loss, and stimulating proper skin regeneration without leaving scars.

As Haruto spoke, Tsunade listened intently, her expression unreadable. He knew that everything he was suggesting was just theory, based on his knowledge of chakra and his medical understanding from his past life. None of it had been tested, but he believed it could work if given a chance.

Tsunade's Response

When Haruto finished, the room was silent for a moment. Tsunade leaned back in her chair, her eyes scanning the diagrams and notes he had provided.

"Your ideas are… interesting," she said, her tone neutral. "But it's all theoretical. Nothing has been tested or applied. It's sound on paper, but medical ninjutsu isn't just about theory—it's about practical results."

Haruto nodded. "I understand that, Tsunade-sama. That's why I brought it to you. I don't have the experience or resources to test this myself, but I believe there's real potential here. With the right chakra control, I think these techniques could work."

Tsunade tapped her fingers on the desk, her gaze still focused on the papers. "You've obviously put a lot of thought into this, and your observations are solid. But without real-world application, this is all conjecture."

Haruto felt a pang of disappointment, but he kept his composure. He knew it wouldn't be easy to impress someone of Tsunade's caliber.

"But," Tsunade added, "you've shown promise. You've been working hard at the hospital, and your dedication is clear. I'll keep this and look it over more thoroughly. If there's an opportunity to test these ideas in the future, I'll consider it. But don't get ahead of yourself, kid."

Haruto bowed deeply, grateful for the opportunity. "Thank you, Tsunade-sama. I appreciate you taking the time to review my work."

The Aftermath

As Haruto left Tsunade's office, he felt a mix of emotions. He knew getting her to fully endorse his ideas was a long shot, but at least she hadn't dismissed them outright. His theories were in the hands of Konoha's greatest medical-nin, and while it wasn't a guarantee, it was a step in the right direction.

He'd planted the seed, and now he would have to wait and see if it would grow. For now, though, he had other goals to focus on—and maybe a few more conversations with Shizune to look forward to.
