96.35% Another Life In Naruto / Chapter 315: 311

Kapitel 315: 311

With his Echo Sense maximized, two of his five sense upgrades were spent. Now, three choices remained, staring back at him as he considered his options. The list appeared in his mind, each sense available for enhancement—well, almost each one.

He focused on his choices, letting each one settle in his mind as he considered its possible effects. Nothing was explained outright; he was left to interpret each upgrade's potential from the name alone, trusting his instincts.

He already put 3 upgrades into hearing so that made sense, as for his eyes being blocked out it seemed the system wouldn't allow him to heal them. He would never have sight at least not now.

• Sight (grayed out)

• Smell

• Taste

• Touch

• Hearing (grayed out)

Considering his options, taste was easy to dismiss. That left smell and touch—both full of mystery, each tempting him in entirely different ways. He began by mulling over smell—a sense often underestimated, but one that could be a game-changer in the right hands.

Smell offered three options:

1. Chemical Sensitivity

Chemical Sensitivity. The words hinted at a heightened awareness of… what? He imagined picking up things that normally went unnoticed—the faintest whiff of something foreign, something that shouldn't be there. The idea intrigued him. Perhaps this was a way to "read" an environment on a deeper level, catching hints and traces in the air that would otherwise remain hidden. If he could somehow sense changes in the air itself, that might give him a window into unseen details, an awareness that went beyond sight or sound.

2. Tracking and Identification

The second option, Tracking and Identification, sounded almost primal. He pictured himself able to follow a trail in ways that felt otherworldly, detecting hints of scent left behind by people, objects, or even recent events. It was like becoming a tracker, capable of singling out individual signatures. It might mean he'd know if someone had been in a room recently, maybe even recognize a person without ever needing to see them. In his mind, it was an invitation to see beyond the visual.

3. Environmental Detection

Environmental Detection. This one was cryptic but filled with possibilities. Did it mean he'd sense shifts in his surroundings? He imagined being able to pick up on changes in the atmosphere, perhaps detecting subtle warnings hidden in the air. Maybe this option would let him understand the air itself—like detecting smoke, gas, or anything foreign invading his space. It was an edge he'd never even thought of before, something that could make unfamiliar places less treacherous.

Then there was Touch. Echo Sense had already enhanced his ability to feel the world around him through sound. But an enhanced touch? That might bring him closer to his environment in ways he hadn't yet imagined.

Touch also presented three options:

1. Pressure Sensitivity

Pressure Sensitivity. It sounded both intriguing and elusive. Could this mean he'd become aware of changes in the air, the tiniest shifts around him? He imagined feeling the difference when someone entered a room, or sensing an object move nearby without seeing it. There was a thrill in the idea of feeling presence and movement at a level of sensitivity he'd never experienced—an edge in close-range encounters or stealthy operations that could make all the difference.

2. Thermal Detection

The name, Thermal Detection, had an obvious draw. Could it mean sensing heat from others nearby? He thought of being able to feel warmth left on a surface or detecting someone's presence in total darkness. It was like having an awareness of temperature beyond the ordinary, something that might let him track, even feel someone or something hidden. If he could read heat signatures, he'd know more about what lurked in the dark than he ever thought possible.

3. Vibration Awareness

Vibration Awareness. This one was equally enticing. The term brought to mind an image of his skin tuned to the faintest tremors, like being able to feel footsteps through the ground, the subtle movements from all around. He imagined a sense so finely attuned that he could feel even the smallest shifts—movement that might go unnoticed to anyone else. The ground, the air, every surface would become a way of detecting threats. He'd become nearly unapproachable, able to sense the faintest movements from any direction.

Each option presented its own mystery. With smell, he might gain the ability to track and detect on an invisible, uncharted level, using subtle cues that only a heightened sense could reveal. With touch, he'd have a new level of awareness of physical space and movement, as if he could feel his surroundings respond to even the slightest changes.

He made choice and selected Vibrstion Awareness

With Vibration Awareness at its maximum level, his sense of touch extended beyond the physical, allowing him to feel even the faintest disturbances in the air. The moment he activated it, his skin came alive, wrapping him in an aura of heightened awareness. The very air pulsed with information, each shift and current, every ripple and tremor, reaching out to him with details he could now "see" through touch alone.

It was as if he'd become the center of a sensitive web, each disturbance resonating against him like waves on water. He felt subtle tremors in the ground and quiet ripples in the atmosphere. A draft brushing past a wall, a distant flutter of wings, the whisper of air around a moving object—all of it translated into touch. This sense allowed him to detect the presence of anything that moved nearby, even if it left no sound. Like sonar but more refined, it felt as though his skin could read the very shape of the air.

Every shift in the room was now part of his awareness. A fly's wings beat from across the room, each rapid flutter creating faint pulses he could feel as if they were inches from him. Further away, he sensed larger movements—faint tremors from a creature outside the window, the barely perceptible shift in air currents as it brushed past the glass. He could now detect the subtle presence of life, air, and motion from every direction, creating a field around him that revealed each tiny vibration, every small displacement.

It was as if his surroundings had become an invisible, three-dimensional map of tremors and shifts. Testing it, he moved his hand slowly through the air, feeling the soft resistance of air currents spreading outward, bouncing back to him like echoes. His body had become a finely tuned antenna, reading every microscopic change in the atmosphere with uncanny precision.

He activated an explosive tag and tossed it across the room. The blast sent shockwaves through both the floor and the air, creating a wave that mapped the entire room in his mind. The vibrations bounced back from every surface, outlining walls, furniture, even the smallest objects as if sculpted in sound and motion. His senses etched each detail, every angle and edge, in perfect clarity.

Together with Echo Sense and Tiered Chakra Sensitivity, his awareness expanded far beyond normal sight. Within a dozen meters, he could feel everything—the density of objects, the movement of air, and the life forces around him. Each ability layered seamlessly with the others, creating a multidimensional awareness. Echo Sense provided structure, while Vibration Awareness filled in every shift and movement, and Chakra Sensitivity revealed energy signatures, even the emotional nuances behind them.

Beyond this core, his awareness softened but still stretched hundreds of meters outward. A sound might echo from the edge of his range, a chakra pulse might resonate like a heartbeat from afar, or a distant tremor might hint at weight, speed, and direction. Thanks to his Two-Mind Ability, he could split his attention: one mind held the broader sensory field, and the other honed in on specific details. If something piqued his interest—a surge of chakra, a faint vibration, a whispered movement—he could focus instantly, pulling rich detail into clarity.

If he focused on a distant sound, it became a layered experience: he could feel the weight of a step, the heartbeat's rhythm, even subtle changes in breathing. This wasn't merely sound or feeling—it was an imprint of intent and emotion, a glimpse into their very presence. His broader awareness kept him tuned to the rhythm of his surroundings, while his focus could sharpen on a specific movement or chakra pulse, peeling back layers to reveal more.

In this way, his perception wasn't just wide—it was deeply responsive. His senses created an adaptable sphere, able to shift with his will, each detail accessible yet effortless to control. His world had transformed into a sensory landscape, infinitely detailed and ready to be explored, each echo, vibration, and chakra pulse weaving into an unbreakable tapestry of awareness.
