Clairvoyant looked at his drawings for in a trance in her traveling wagon.
"This is an unusual creature ... an angel," - she confidently weighed, upsetting the captain.
"Are you saying that he's just a figment of my imagination?"
"No, physically he exists. Very far from here! On the southern continent. It's not easy to win his heart!"
"How to find him?"
"Mmm… I see him… - the witch closed her eyes. - The young man lives in a small port town ... in his parents' tavern. He is not waiting for you... but he dreams of traveling..."
She told everything right, and it's true, the boy seemed like an angel who had descended from heaven, and when Taylor said that he had found his ideal, he couldn't believe it until he saw it on the pier: the fragile figure, huge innocent eyes, thin black hair, a pink plump mouth, asking for a kiss. In it, from the human, there is only a physical shell. It seems that earthly passions do not capture him: greed, envy, jealousy, lust are completely absent from him.
Ray perceived the caresses with surprise, but responded to them. You can't call him insensitive. The captain in love will have to try hard to tie Ray to himself. He decided not to insist on intimacy in the following evenings, so that the young man would get used to it better.
Arlow was at first afraid that the boy would run away in the nearest port, but Ray behaved like a childish enthusiast in new lands and willingly accepted gifts from the patron, whether it was clothes or food.
"Do you like everything? - the captain excitedly grabbed his hand while walking around some city.
"Oh yeah! Exotic! What I wanted to see in other areas. Are you afraid that I will run away, Commander?"
"Something like that…"
"I realize that I am very dear to you, so I stay with you. You take care of me better than my parents, spoil me so much ... Why should I run away from you?"
"Suddenly you could fall in love with someone..."
"I don't think about it at all, but I feel good with you, Arlow!"
"You said my name… I'm flattered, my sweet," - the captain squeezed the boy's palm tighter. - " I love you so much…"
In the romantic halo of a sunset near the shore of the endless sea, after long kisses, Arlow presented him a gold ring with a large transparent blue crystal, putting it on the middle finger.
"What a beauty! - the boy marveled the magnificent sparkling stone in an elegant star-shaped setting. - What does your gift mean?"
"I'm proposing..."
"Arlow…"
"Do not refuse... think about it carefully and wear it for now as a sign of my love..."
"Then there must be a matching ring for you!"
"It is, but you will put it on me when you reciprocate."
"I like you, but marriage is a serious step, - Ray said in confusion. - Especially between guys it's too strange. I'm not ready yet for such a serious relationship."
"As you say! I'll be waiting. And remember, I will not give you to anyone!"
The captain tried not to notice that Taylor, accompanying them, was struggling to cope with the feelings that had arisen for Ray. Previously, the young sailor did not strongly believe that this boy really existed when he searched for him in the cities and towns, skeptically accepting the information of the fortuneteller and checking all the taverns of the seaside ports, in one of which his heart beat wildly at the meeting.
Everything matched: portrait resemblance and habitat. The boy was serving dishes to customers and angrily measured him with his eyes, noticing the interest of a handsome stranger in cloak and hat.
"What would you like to eat, sir? — the tavern boy asked embarrassedly, starring at the tray.
"A couple of meatballs and a glass of beer..."
Taylor watched him for long and deliberately stretched out the time at the meal until he finally convinced himself that is the same boy he is searching. He started a rumor among the visitors that a certain merchant ship needed an assistant and noticed his reaction to this news.
It turned out to be much easier to lure him onto the ship than expected, and the young sailor rubbed his hands with joy that the capture was possible to crank out without problems, but his heart on the same day was pierced by a previously unknown feeling. He never felt a craving for guys, but when he saw him half-naked on the captain's couch, he scolded himself for a long time for the lust that arose for a cute young man, attributing to Ray the ability of a hex.
"Oh… no, this cannot be! - Taylor lamented to himself. - Why do I constantly think about him? He is not my dream, and in general I like girls. Some kind of pretty incubus! Arlow bewitched too! Damn it, I'm going crazy!"
