Kapitel 31: Meeting Dad once more

A man sat on a wide tree stump, surrounded by a forest of thin trees. One could easily something from the distance as the trees were quite separated from each other.

There was an unending wind that carried snow, yet the man has no signs of any wind and snow on his body. From above, it can also be seen that there was a peculiar current that passed around him as time passed.

The few leaves and white snow that were supposedly to land at him seem to dodge the man himself.

On the distance, a large hurricane of snow and wind was visible to the eye. The sides of the hurricane spun, bringing along the clouds that surrounded the mountain. The sky became almost clear above the surroundings as the clouds get sucked in. The trees were however, as steady and resilient as boulders, and they only swayed from the heavy winds that blew along the hurricane.

It reached about as high as the surrounding moutain ranges, but it wasn't high enough to be seen from above. Within the center, there was a red circle of light that flickered time to time, and whenever it flashed, the hurricane would get larger. As it did, there would also be an occasional scream of agony that ended after a brief moment.

"Sorry," a woman's voice could be heard from within the clouds, following that direction, a woman in white robes with fitting inner garments could be seen slowly floating downwards in front of the man that was sitting on the large tree stump.

"I've made you wait." she continued, with her other eye winking towards the man. Seeing his disregard for her coquettish action, she frowned and pouted, before she gathered red light on her hand and formed a magic circle.

It flashed flashed and enlarged itself before surrounding the woman in white.

"This better be worth it," the woman finally landed on the ground and walked towards the man.

"Since I barely know all of those humans and beasts you killed, I can't be bothered to have regards for their lives. But if you harm my family once more, you won't know what sleep feels like anymore."

"So feisty...sadly you already have a wife. Makes me so, so jealous you know? I found you first but she actually became your wife!"

"We just...don't match."

The woman gave a sigh, before she touched the man's face, bringing him inside the red circle.

"I bet they discovered it now, I can sense the traps I set up, being sprung one by one."

"Do it already. So that this facade of a war can stop."

"This has a high chance of failure. Are you sure?"

"Without power, I won't be able to do as I like anyway," the man made a faint smile and glanced towards the side, as if mocking himself.

Seeing this, the woman wore an unusual grimace on her beautiful face. The man looked upwards to her and kept smiling, his eyes narrowed.

Then on his belly, three different brands glowed, and all of them had different symbols. A while after, somewhere above his navel, another red glow appeared but it was darker and dimmer in color, and had the same aura as the golden mark.

The woman also had the same four symbols glow from her body, and their auras started to surge.

...

From the distance, thousands of kilometers all the way to Allpeak Mountain, a man in full black sat cross-legged inside a room with his eyes closed; Four different colored rocks hovered around him.

"Another one? An ascension?"

His eyes opened as he blurted that out, and he disappeared and reappeared above a tall mountain peak, clouds surrounding the whole area below, nothing else could be seen.

"Weird aura. Is it actually just one person?"

...

Near a forest of bamboo trees, a man with black long hair tied to a bun was currently fishing in a pond along with a boy. He suddenly missed the fish that he should've caught easily, but his eyes suddenly narrowed and he focused his gaze on the northwest, dropping his fishing rod.

The boy next to him got curious and returned the rod that the man was using. He also tried to follow the man's line of sight and only saw the endless green bamboo before he started a conversation.

"Big brother, what is it?"

"It's...someone trying their best."

With those words, the boy somehow understood, and he returned to sit and casted his own rod. The man still stood there, still gazing over the distance.

...

Within the hurricane, every Mage-level combatant dropped to the ground, as if they felt a wave of intense force overcome their spirits and started to sweat profusely. The stronger ones fared better, and caught a few of those who weren't able to break their fall.

However, the three sole grandmaster-level combatants' eyes widened, and they felt a chill on their spine.

"It's... A god's aura. There's no mistaking it," Virol's whole body shook as he mentioned, and he took out a rusty old bell from somewhere inside his person, and channeled red light into it---only to be stopped by William.

"I don't think you have to do that, the other gods would also feel it if I'm correct."

With that, Virol cancelled what he was doing.

"Sir, one of the Corps told us something probably viable," a Vates approached the general with difficulty.

"Let's hear it."

"He said, if the blizzard was man-made, the safest place would probably the eye."

...

Somewhere within the same mountains, in an igloo...

***

I was currently pondering on the method that Kirllia told me, and it was the only shot I could only make.

But what's with her right now? Her face looks like she's seen a ghost, and looking towards her line of sight, I couldn't see anything either. I tried going out of the igloo and only saw a faint light that was aimed upwards from the distance.

Kirllia also went out, and I saw her whole body shivering. I know it's not from the cold, but seeing the light from the distance she tried to speak but nothing could be heard.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Don't you... feel it?"

"I'm not sure what you're... Is it that light?"

"It's not only 'that' light, it's the Void Demoness' aura!"

Hearing that jolted me out of my partial lethargy and blood rushed to my head.

Dad! He's over there!

"Don't go! What about your aunt!?"

I gritted my teeth as I almost forgot myself again. Why am I like this?

"Thanks. But it looks like she can also feel that aura you're saying."

Looking behind, she saw Aunt rising up from the tunnel, and made a barrier; only to cancel it seconds later.

I couldn't be bothered why the winds were gone for now, but I realized that there was a large snowy tornado, or is it called a hurricane, spinning from the distance. I could see a few trees that it brought with it as I observed carefully, and the fact that it was getting large as time pass.

"Big bro... He's in there."

"You mean inside that hurricane?"

"I've always felt his aura around! Now I'm sure!"

"What are we waiting for then, let's go!" I called to them as I created the four swirls I usually make to boost me speed.

"Are you planning to die? Do you want to charge towards that massive hurricane?"

"Of course... not. I have an idea, but you have to help me!"

I saw Aunt going back the igloo and quickly went outside, wearing her usual thick coat before she returned near us.

My blood is already boiling, we can't delay further, so I immediately made a flat golden barrier and put a pile of snow on it... then prepared four swirls underneath it, and I spun each of them in different directions with the same speed.

Controlling it was a bit hard as it was like having my head being bitten by my own teeth as I grit, but then the platform started to elevate, and I released my control of the propelling Origin, launching the barrier towards the air upwards until it disappeared from sight along with my control.

Not sure what happened, but it probably vanished as I can see the snow that I placed drift away with the winds above.

Seeing what I just did, the two of them probably look stupefied, but I disregarded that and made an extremely large version of that platform...I'll call it a large drone for now. I practiced a lot before actually implementing this mechanism, but the spins of each Origin really makes me confused as time passes, and I could only focus on these four at the maximum.

I told her about what I plan to do, and she readily agreed. As this method would bring us closer to the hurricane in just minutes, there were no objections from the both of them.

Kirllia will handle the forward speed, and Aunt will focus on creating an initial barrier.

When we get to a height where we're a bit above the hurricane, then we can proceed forward.

As this is my first time actually doing a makeshift flight, it makes me nervous, but knowing that Dad is just over there at the distance, I forgot fear and was actually a bit excited.

Until Kirllia told me another thing.

"They're trying to breakthrough to reach beyond Legend... They're trying to become a god."

With that, I somehow gulped, yet since we've been willing to do anything anyway, I started our elevation.

Five meters...

Ten meters...

Twenty meters, and the wind somehow disturbs the balance of the drone, but I try my best to stabilize our position.

Lots of times I've always made the mini drone just fly over and crash towards in a direction, but this time I can't make any mistakes.

Adrenaline probably rushed towards my head, as I feel calm.

The winds try to disrupt our balance once again, but I'm intent on stabilizing our flight upwards.

I can't measure how far we are off the ground right now, but I'm sure we're about as high as the hurricane now, so I told Kirllia to propel us forward.

She started to chant something I couldn't hear, then after a while, red light started to gather on her own body, creating a vertical circle, then expanded more than twice the large drone. With a single word I didn't understand, I felt a force erupting towards the back and pushed us forward with speed, but not as fast as I imagined.

The drone started to tilt forwards...

"Hey aren't we falling forward?" Kirllia said.

I could see a faint barrier forming over us, it must be Aunt's, and there was a trace of difficulty on her face as she closed her eyes with a frown.

Of course I increased the two swirls in front, first to balance once again, and next, to prevent us from falling forward. As we balance once again, I can see Kirllia chanting once again, so I increased output of the swirld again to lift us more into the air, until all I could see were clouds.

We were surrounded by Aunt's barrier so our vision towards each other isn't obstructed, but now I can't see the hurricane. There was only a strange light towards the front, and they're probably right there.

Kirllia finished chanting, and we once again propelled forward, and this time I was prepared but the two swirls behind got disrupted. I increased the output behind and we were now stabilizing again.

The control for these four different directions is now starting to make me feel dizzy once more, so I tugged on Kirllia and she somehow understood, and poured red and silver light towards my head, and it reduced the pain I felt.

With that, she resumed chanting once again, and I could see below that we're already at the upper edge of the blizzard.

Once we got close, I noticed the bright light at the center which seemed to be compromised of different colors. The winds were strong enough to pull up trees from their roots, and for it to carry all sorts of debris I can't even see. It's probably stronger than any of the storms I've experienced from my previous world.

I tugged at Kirllia's coat once again, then also held Aunt's shoulder and nodded. This next burst of force will be the last, and if my math is correct...hopefully being a Vates candidate will make my math projectile correct.

The light on the distance is about a kilometer or so, judging from that, I tilt the drone on a right angle to get the maximum range...Kirllia generated a larger circle about five times as big as before, along with another one behind it. I also made another gold and partially red spherical barrier that surrounded us within that instant.

*sffftk*

I felt myself get dragged towards behind, and felt like I crashed towards another vehicle, before dropping to the platform on all fours. There was a loud sound of something cutting through the wind, and I could only slightly open my eyes. I could only see Kirllia's fur coat in front of me, who also got dragged backwards, trying to balance herself. The surroundings blurred for a bit before the hurricane somehow resisted the barrier I made, slowing us down. There was even a tree that slammed towards us, only for it to snap in two.

As our speed fell, so did our height, and I could see us crashing towards a thinly grouped ring of trees.

Fearing that our bodies might turn into meat paste as we fell, I tried to create swirls of Origin to decrease our falling speed, but it just spun the barrier I made instead, and we started to slowly spin inside. I could feel a bit of slowing down but it was still dangerous so I added more swirls until I felt my head hurt.

Kirllia also somehow recovered and made another red circle of light.

She started to chant as we once again increase our downward speed.

Aunt also braced herself and hugged me tightly as soon as she recovered from the tumble.

We almost hit the snowy ground when I saw a burst of red light from below, creating cracks, then a gust of wind, before a thin crater finally formed on the surface below.

All of us let out sighs of relief and I returned all of the Origin I used to my body. Aunt also dispersed her barrier, and we all dropped below.

"Why are you here?" Two voices asked at the same time, from a man and from a woman.
