Kapitel 58: Look For
Skylar could see the commotion before he even entered the school gates. He was like a coward who could just standstill across the street doing nothing. Skylar notices several police officers standing back and forth in his school and Skylar quickly learns that they are looking for Michelia who disappeared suddenly.
"I know you must be involved in this?" someone asked in a voice that Skylar was sick of even hearing.
Skylar didn't bother to turn his head at the person who was Davi standing by his side. He was reluctant to make a fuss on an already chaotic morning.
He watched from a distance several policemen combing around the school which was a futile activity. He seemed to see himself at that time looking for Neil and Faiz aimlessly, like them.
"What kind of person are you who are silent when you know where the missing people are," snorted Davi who was still standing next to Skylar, also looking straight at what Skylar was doing right now.
Skylar is still loyal to locking his lips tightly and letting this person continue to speak and Skylar is now testing his patience until when this person acts stupid with his mouth.
"Neil, Faiz, Michelia just disappeared. That's a sign you've never been able to take care of the people around you. Look at them, trapped there and you can still stay here."
Skylar snorted stuffing his hands into his trouser pockets, a sense of humor playing in his mouth, hearing Davi speak of his stupidity.
"You're done, I want to go to class," said Skylar turning his head slightly at Davi.
Davi seemed to open and close his mouth without saying anything, only with that Skylar left him with a snort.
"Damn it, Skylar!" Skylar could hear Davi's scream behind him but he quickly ignored it.

"Skylar, you from Neil's room?"
Skylar pulled out a dining chair and sat on it. He nodded in response to his mother's question.
Renjana is busy decorating the pandan cake on the table. The scent danced around Skylar's nostrils.
"No need to decorate, ma'am. Just cut it." Skylar slapped the cream on top of the cake and popped it in his mouth.
"You can't spoil it, Skylar. Just something else," Renjana joked and re-applied the cream her son had broken.
The sound of Renjana's cell phone on the table filled the void that had been paused. He took and checked incoming messages from a number he did not recognize. Multimedia, Renjana opened it. He was silent, then occasionally he looked at Skylar.
Renjana's silence made Skylar realize that whatever her mother saw on her cell phone wasn't good news.
Ranjana's eyes turned to her child, Skylar could see the nervousness and fear in her mother's eyes when she looked at Skylar.
"Are you all right?" Renjana's voice trembled, making Skylar's throat tighten.
"As you can see, I'm fine, Mom. What's wrong with you?"
"I received a message. One photo of you being injured and passed out in an alley." Renjana couldn't continue her words only tears started to flow freely. Skylar certainly can't stand still watching his mother cry because of him. Then his fingers wiped away the tears that rolled down his mother's cheeks.
"You can see I'm fine now. I've never fainted either. Don't think about it, Mom, it's just a prank."
"It can't be a prankster. If not you, who are you?" Renjana is restless.
Skylar didn't answer her mother's question right away, she reached Renjana to see what Renjana was looking at. A stinging pain right on Skylar's chest created an invisible scratch when Skylar's eyes saw a similar photo of him closed with wounds.
Skylar doesn't understand how his body reacts every time he sees Neil hurt. Skylar knew very well it wasn't him, Skylar's mind drifted to a meeting at school where he saw Neil who was silent as if he didn't feel any pain in his injured body. Then moving on to the dream Skylar had just now, everything was the same. The pain, all the events that destroyed his self-esteem. Skylar had no idea how a dream might be connected to this incident. But for now, Skylar won't think about it just yet. His anger was boiling. He knows the culprit. Skylar will find them. We will see.
There's a mistake here, whoever hurt Neil would want to hurt him as seen from how the photo was sent to his mother.
If it wasn't for Neil that person would hurt Skylar.
Skylar's silence caught Renjana's attention until her hand gently shook her daughter's shoulder. Skylar flinched and turned his attention back to Renjana.
"That photo, it's not me ma'am." There was a moment's pause before Skylar resumed his words, he gave Renjana a look that he wasn't lying. "At school, there is a person who is very similar to me Ma'am, a person I often tell my mother about. Indeed, at school I saw that she was covered in wounds, she was silent."
Renjana held Skylar's arm while furrowing her brows, "Wait a minute, why don't you tell me the person you talk to a lot about looks like you, Skylar."
"Mom didn't ask."
Renjana exhaled roughly, "I already know who wants to hurt Skylar, so they can't even recognize you and hurt other people. That must be your grandmother, you know what kind of grandma is."
Renjana realized one thing and quickly asked her daughter, "Is he, Neil?"
Skylar's heartbeat quickened this time along with a thought that returned to the past.
"He's Neil." A sound similar to a gust of wind escaped from the silenced mouth of Skylar again.
Renjana was no less silent when the longing gripped her chest tighter, she dragged the silence between them with her words. "Why didn't you tell me."
Renjana looked back at the photo on the cellphone in her hand. Someone who looks like her child, Renjana realized that their hair was different. But how could a mother not recognize her child, even after years apart?
"He doesn't know me, Mom, he doesn't know mom. He forgot everything." There was a tinge of sadness mixed in from Skylar's words.
"We don't know what happened to Neil after we were forced apart, but I know Neil's life must be tough."
Renjana continued. "Even though he forgot. Has Skylar ever wondered why Neil tries to approach and make friends with you, even though you've only met once? Have you ever wondered why Neil always helps you?" Renjana tried to explain to Skylar slowly then she continued again. "Your bond is strong, you're twins. No matter how much they want to separate you, you'll still be the same. Even if he forgets you, Skylar. Will you explain slowly to Neil and become friends with him? I don't know why I'm sure he's hurt a lot more. than you Skylar, you know how your brother is."
"Honesty is important in this case Skylar. No matter how people want to separate you, that's not going to happen. Look at it now. I want to meet you."
"Skylar can take Neil to meet Mom."
"Skylar, you promise?" Renjana looked at her daughter's eyes sparkling.
Skylar was silent.
