Kapitel 1: Prologue

"Once upon a time there were five gods. They existed in the vast expanse of space, outside the bounds of time. It's claimed in ancient texts that at the time, space was empty, a place with no sound or light.

Eventually four of the gods, being competitive by nature, started to create balls of energy and gas trying to one-up each other. The fifth god watched the other beings, finding amusement in their games.

The fifth god also took it upon themselves and distributed their creations all around to maintain a sense of order. As these competitions continued, eventually one of the five had created a globe shape, and unlike the other gaseous creations, this creation was solid with a very hot center full of energy and fire. The others took interest and began adding more onto this spherical invention.

As time passed and the gods continued to design, four of the gods began to lose interest and drift away onto other things. The fifth god however, continued to foster this creation that now had water so deep that they almost touched the liquid fire in the core, and mountains so high that they could be seen from anywhere on the sphere. The god fell in love with this work of art and created a gaseous force field to protect it from any danger.

The other gods took notice but were focused on a new form of fiery gas that was much bigger than the others. This god continued to stick right by the creation, watching it grow and flourish.

The god watched as life slowly began to emerge from the oceans. At this moment the god was fascinated by this anomaly and rushed to tell the other four. They were just as interested, each bestowing their own contributions and gifts to the new form of life.

One god set a big fiery gas ball nearby, giving light and heat, another god gifted a smaller ball of earth to circle their creation. The third god decided to give this smaller ball of earth the ability to sway big enough bodies of water.

The fourth god contributed the gift of varied landscapes, dry stretches of land filled with particles of broken down rock and immense heat, freezing cold tundra and ice caps that spanned one tenth of the sphere, and finally clouds to transport water around.

The fifth god bestowed the system, allowing for status, inventory, and other features to assist life in navigating.

Unfortunately most of the creatures were not intelligent enough to use this system, but that did not stop the god from deciding pledge to forever protect this life.

While the fifth god continued to watch over this world, the other four decided to make their own.

Inspired by the Fifth god's creativity, their competitive nature was once again sparked. They began to create similar, but much smaller worlds.

They bestowed the system on each of these worlds and created their own species for these worlds.

Eventually a very intelligent form of life appeared on the fifth god's planet, it had a main body with a sphere on the top and four appendages. They were also very hairy. The gods watched as they built up their societies and formed a religion.

While the others were interested, the fifth god was enthralled and turned into a little creature like them, going down to bless them. The god admired the little creatures' ingenuity and integrated themselves into society, helping these little creatures survive.

However over time some of the little creatures, calling themselves humans, began to resent the god for their wisdom and power. They eventually decided to attack them. The resentful little creatures were scared and angry at this foreign being.

So once the sky darkened as it did every rotation around the big fiery ball(called sun) for a period of time(night), these humans attacked the god, which was currently staying in a temple the humans had built for them.

The humans jumped into the temple, finding the god looking at the twinkling gas balls(stars) in the sky, and brutally stabbed the god with crude sharp wood.

The god was caught off guard, shock clear in their eyes, along with betrayal.

The god fell, a gold liquid flowed from their body, as they crumpled to the floor. The god is said to have uttered a curse; and as the god slowly died, chunks of rocks began plummeting from the sky, no longer protected by the force field.

The heavy rock rell and fell as the little creatures ran, screaming. Some of them prayed for mercy, others cursed the god, and some, accepted their fate. Dust clouded the first planet of the gods.

Big craters were formed as the land around was absolutely decimated, killing almost everything in the area. The brutal rockfall didn't stop there, it continued on for three orbits around the sun, until nothing was left breathing. The other planets caught wind of this atrocity committed and the event came to be known as Skyfall.

The other four gods were furious by this event. Banishing this first creation of life to the far corners of the universe. Feeling anger towards these life forms, they began to neglect their own worlds, leaving them to eventually decay and turn into something else entirely.

Over time the third god slowly got over their anger, but couldn't forgive the life forms that easily, and, feeling sorry for the neglected worlds, they decided to do something.

Using their abilities they transformed these worlds into challenges, and installed a new feature to the system, a hub of sorts, that would allow the life forms to travel to these different worlds, and complete the challenges, and maybe have a glimmer of hope to redeem themselves.

Meanwhile on the original planet human beings slowly recovered, anything near the area being obliterated of course, but other small societies did exist.

Slowly we built up everything we can see today, using the system and gifts. Temples still exist but the gods are mostly forgotten and irrelevant to current day society.

Us humans are thriving, however, we should not forget our origins.

The end"

Yin closed the book cover, titled The Archives, smiling at the children listening intently around her in the library. They were clearly enthralled with the book.

She set it back on the shelf and began to get up. The children quickly ran over, grabbing her magenta sweater and begging for another story. Smiling apologetically, Yin shook off the kids,

"Sorry, Ill read the story about our world next, I promise" she told them before delivering them back to the camp counselor. She waved goodbye and made her exit out of the building, Noodle tailing along behind. Once she was outside, she paused for a moment to take anbreath of fresh air and enjoy the weather. Then she sighed before she picked up her phone, seeing three missed calls from Esther, one of her three roommates. She quickly made sure to call her back, worried something was wrong. Esther rarely ever called anyone, much less three times.

"Hey Esther, what's going on? Is everyone okay?" She questioned, stressing already about all the possibilities.

Esther, having picked up almost immediately, replied with, "It's fine now. Ren is just throwing a tantrum and we're all out of supplies. It's your turn to go to the store this week, and pick up Ren while you're at it. I kicked her out of the house. I dont want to see her for the next hour at least!"

Yin sighed, annoyed with the development, "Esther you can't just kick her out of the house, but yes I will grab her and we can go to the store."

"Great thanks." Esther replies before abruptly hanging up.

Yin scoffed and started walking home, dropping noodle off and picking up Ren. Ren pretty easily agreed to go with her, having been locked out of the house. They then ventured off to the store, taking the path through the park.
