28.23% A World of Reincarnators / Chapter 48: The final floors

Kapitel 48: The final floors

With Mizuki still decimating the Northern areas and Will using his new found power to quickly end every enemy that crossed his path the floor 3 clearance was proceeding smoothly. For Mizuki and Will.

The others...

Not so much.....

With Shigoto and Eric getting pummeled by a swarm of 3 meter tall mutated fireflies that have all gained a resistance to lightning while Natyr, Tomi and Salon are getting trounced on by a different swarm of half an inch big firefly and butterfly hybrids.

With Shigoto being almost useless without his lightning advantage and group nr 2 barely able to hit their enemies, needless to say, they were struggling.

Mizuki and Will both finished before even 7 minutes had passed.

"Hey, onee-san I think we should go help the other groups."

"If they don't struggle, how will they grow?"

Hearing this, Will thought back to his time in that hell hole called London (no offence England).

"They probably will grow a lot slower, but at least they'll survive to grow."

Looking at the frowning Will, Mizuki thought for a second before sighing and frowning.

"Fine. But back on the ship I'll have them and you clean every inch of the deck instead."

'Yes! I knew she was a good person!' Will thought and then said.

"I'll go West."

"Enjoy.."

With both of them disappearing in an instant, one with a frown and one with a smile, they found the crew not even 40 seconds later.

...

'I can't do sh*t to these damn bugs. They're resistant to all my lightning damn it!

Isn't the cursed part of 'Cursed Thunder' supposed to kick in anytime now?!

Eric isn't doing good either these massive trashcan dumps are too physically strong.

God. Am I really going to die to bugs!? F*ck this!'

Yet the moment a bug was about to bite off Shigotos head, it fell down in two pieces along with every other bug.

"You were close." Mizuki's voice rang out.

"2 or 3 more shots and your curse effect would have taken place."

'So I was that close and still failed huh.'

"Thanks captain."

"You head to the meeting place. I'll kill as many bugs as I can in the meantime."

"Got it. Let's go Eric"

With the two heading off, both thinking about their own little problems, Mizuki teleported to the nearest swarm.

'2 or 3 shots huh.'

'I couldn't even scratch them.'

...

'I can't hit any of them! Damn it!'

'They fly straight through Natyrs' webs.'

'Salon is the only one who has cut a few down. I can't be shown up like this!'

With multiple tiny bite marks on their bodies, the three were struggling as every time one of them died, another swarm joined in.

But then Will arrived and all the bugs in the area seemed to stop.

Actually, they did not 'seem' to stop, they did stop.

After all, one of Wills' elements is Time.

"Now! Slice those daft muppets to shreds!"

As he yelled, spikes of shadow came from the surrounding foliage.

And with Wills' shout, everyone snapped back to it and the swarm was defeated in almost an instant.

"Nicely done. Now let's head back. The 'captain' is sure to be waiting."

"What about the Western side?" Natyr asked.

"Oh that? I'm sure she'll have it cleared in a minute."

Suddenly hearing buzzing behind them only for it to suddenly stop, they headed back to the meeting place.

8 minutes later.

"She's back." Will said as he looked towards the distant and constantly disappearing figure.

"It's suprising how you had such trouble with only a few bugs." Mizuki said the moment she arrived.

"It's clear that I have overestimated you lot."

A moment of silence followed Mizukis' little talk.

Some took the criticism well, some didn't, some were criticising themselves on top of that. The silence was broken.

"Only me and Will are heading to the upper floors."

"Wait what?!" Natyr asked rather loudly.

"I bet the system will give everyone a mention after the last boss is defeated so no need to worry."

"That's not the problem. We have more than a week left, can't you just train us a little? It would be easier on you if you didn't act alone all the time!" Natyr yelled.

"We don't have time."

"Will has Time magic, time itself is slower in Sanctuaries and even 2 days have not gone by after the announcement. We do have time!"

"Let me rephrase that. I do not have the time."

Mizuki said as she looked Natyr in the eyes.

"I do not know about you. But I have things to do after this and those things need to be completed as fast as possible. So. No."

Turning around, Mizuki started talking.

"If you need to get stronger that much then I'll leave the regular enemies alive on the next few floors. After the boss is dead you can kill them. Happy?"

Without waiting for a response, Mizuki started walking.

"Will hurry up."

And she disappeared.

"Sorry about that." Will said with closed eyes and a slightly sad smile as he too disappeared.

"Damn it! I am not useless!" Natyr yelled, frustrated.

"Natyr. In this place and in this situation. We are." Shigoto said, the entire time he didn't even look up, after Mizukis' declaration he didn't even seem suprised.

"This is still frustrating. Why have a crew if you do everything alone?" Tomi commented.

"Probably to have the crew clean the boat? he." Eric let out a dry laugh.

"Well let's go back to the ship. At the very least we could sell some information to the people yet to enter this place." Shigoto proposed.

"It's the best we can do in this situation." Salon agreed and the group started heading out.

...

Mizuki and Will were standing infront of a weird amalgamation of spider, antlion and snake. The boss of the third floor, yet to be killed.

Ending it in an instant, they moved on.

The next floor.

Ignoring every monster, Mizuki and Will were now infront of an amalgamation of firefly, butterfly and ant. An ant body and head with glowing butterfly wings that seemed to suck up mana from the surroundings and a purple and red glowing tail light.

Nevertheless it still ended up dead within seconds.

The fifth floor. The area was barren compared to the other floors. Most monsters were already dead but rather than 'dead' more like turned to stone along with some leaves from the surroundings.

The boss was a huge, massive, gigantic firefly. And it was dead, turned to stone.

The next floor, was already open.

Entering the next floor with hesitation, both Mizuki and Will were suprised to see what was at the top.
