Kapitel 93: new home...

Mitsuna woke up from a dream. Sweat ran down her back.
She sat up straight and looked around only to see neverending darkness.
Reaching out her hand, she touched a wall of sorts. It was extremely cold. It reminded her of her time in the fridge for a moment.
She stood up and reached her hand to see if there was a ceiling. She could not reach and she didn't feel comfortable jumping.
She felt as if she was moving, or rather she felt like the space she was in was moving and dragging her along with it.
Walking around the space, Mitsuna could find nothing resembling a door or hatch so she sat down.
'What a weird place.'
Looking around, she could still see nothing, no one.
'I hope brother is okay.'
She closed her eyes and tried to remember anything she could that would help her.
'If the ones who abducted us are the illegal science guild people then the one who would know about them the most would be brother. Damn.'
Realizing she could not do anything alone at this point, she waited.
During her wait, she opened her status window.

'Nothing much has changed.'
Mitsuna thought as she skimmed over her skills and stats.

Soon after what felt like a few minutes, Mitsuna felt a change.
Looking around, she could see nothing out of the ordinary.
She stood up and walked around the space, touching the walls as she did.
Suddenly stopping at the wall opposite of where she was sitting, she felt that this spot on the wall was warmer compared to the rest.
Crouching down, she placed her ear on the wall only to hear the faintest of mumbles and a small thud.
Waiting a moment, she knocked on the wall twice only to receive a response of one knock after a few seconds of silence.
"Hello?"
She could barely hear through the wall but the voice on the other side would be easily recognizable even if she was half deaf.
"Mitsuna?"
"Brother! Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I happened to have a talk with a few scientists just now."
"Did anything happen?"
"Nothing much. But I did find out that the tall lady was the leader."
"Do you know where we are and where we are being taken?"
"Sort of. We should be in mana draining cells. The metal that these boxes are made from absorbs everything except a few points."
'Now that he mentions it...'
Mitsuna took another glance at her status screen.
'3?!'
"On the topic of where we are being taken. I don't know exactly. I am guessing to one of their research stations but I'm not certain."
"Hmm. Hey, why is this wall warm?"
"Suddenly?"
"Did you use your fire magic to heat up the walls so I could find you?"
"Yeah. I did."
"Brother, you're so cool!"
"Thanks. I'm going to go to sleep in a moment, need to rest for a while. We will probably be separated when we arrive so hang in there."
"Alright."
"They may do some experiments but just bare with them for a while. I promise that you will escape."
"Okay."
'He must be really tired to mess up his speech. Of course, we will both escape.'
"I'm going to lie down and rest..."
"Sleep well, brother."
Mitsuna could hear a faint whisper followed by a light thud.

Mitsuna herself soon followed her brother's example and went to sleep.
Lying down next to the warm wall, for some reason, for just a moment, her heart ached.
...
The next day.
Mitsuna felt how the cell she was in stopped moving.
Turning to the wall, she spoke.
"It looks like we are here brother. I'll try to find you when we are taken to their base."
She then stood up and removed her hand from the still-warm wall.
Looking around she soon heard a clank and thud from her right.
A door seemed to appear and then be opened, letting light into her cell and finally giving her the luxury of seeing the space for the first time.
Dark grey walls and just over 3 meters long.
A scientist walked in and cuffed her, she could not fight back since she barely had any mana and her weapon was taken from her.
Following the man outside, Mitsuna was surprised to see what seemed to be escorts surrounding her cell.
A total of 12.
Most took up a position behind her while two took the lead in front.
They pushed her and started walking towards a dense forest.
Hearing a clang behind her, Mitsuna could hear one of them say: "Get that cripple corpse out of there, couldn't even walk on their own.".
Hearing their behaviour against her brother, she looked back only for her view of her brother's cell to be blocked by her escorts.
Arriving at a strange cave, she was taken deep within while being blindfolded.
'Why blindfold me now? A little too late.'
Mitsuna thought as she wobbled forwards towards the direction where her chains were being pulled.
Arriving at the destined location, her blindfold was removed and she was placed inside a cell with glass walls.
She was given numbered patient clothing.
Reading the number, she put the clothes on first before removing the pieces of clothing that were below the hospital gown like clothing.
It was coloured deep black while the edges of the gown and provided belt were white.
A white number was located on her right shoulder and the same number in black on her belt, also on her right side.
She was then provided food and water. Although it looked pretty bad, after a taste it was actually not that disgusting.
It seemed as though the water was filled with vitamin pills as it had a pretty bad taste. Sour and sweet with a bitter aftertaste.
After an hour, Mitsuna had still not seen her brother being taken past her so she had guessed that his cell was closer to the exit even though he was stronger than her.
Another hour went by and the tall woman who had ordered their capture had arrived behind the glass wall o Mitsuna's cell.
Looking at the woman for a moment, Mitsuna ignored her gaze and went back to what she was doing, fiddling with her hair.
A few seconds after the momentary eye contact, Mitsuna's cell was entered by a woman scientist.
The woman told Mitsuna to face the wall.
Not bothering to fight back for now since Mitsuna did not know the scientist's strength, she obliged.
As she faced the wall, she was ordered to place her hands on it.
Letting out a sigh, she listened.
The scientist approached Mitsuna warily, and as she closed in, the woman reached her hands towards Mitsuna's hair and tied it into a long ponytail.
Leaving the cell, as the door closed, the scientist woman let out a sigh and spoke to the tall leading scientist lady.
Their conversation could not be heard.
Sitting down, Mitsuna touched her hair and leaned on the wall.
While leaning on the wall, Mitsuna looked through the glass and tried to read the lips of the talking scientists.
As she tried, the leading scientist woman glanced at her and noticing Mitsuna's gaze directed at their lips, smirked and walked off with the other woman.
Stating something like: "Let us take our conversation away from the child."
'This is strange. Isn't the treatment rather good? Although they seem to be wary of me and I have gone through no experiments yet. Nothing seems too bad on my end, I hope Jameson is doing good as well.'
...
On the day before the arrival.
On the other side of the wall, where Jameson was.
Jameson was sitting while leaning on the wall.
He whispered.
'Love you Mitsuna...'
And fell to his side.
On the wall where he was leaning on, a large bloodstain covered it, his blood making the wall warm due to his dragon bloodline.
