Kapitel 102: On edge

It had been a week since the incident with Miriam happened and, in that time, it had been quiet. Things had gone on as usual and it was maddening. I would have preferred a little bit of trouble because now it felt like we were in a moment of calm before the storm.

I was always on edge and the slightest noise made me jump. I didn't know when Miriam would come for my body and use it so that Gillian could take over it. She had promised me that she would see me soon and she wasn't one to bluff. 

So far, those were the words that played in my head on a loop. 

"Be safe, Leela. I'll see you soon. "

"What are you thinking about?" Zeus asked and I yelped in surprise. 

I had expected to be alone in the penthouse so hearing him without seeing him had scared the shit out of me. Wow, I needed to get my shit together. That was part of the reason I had called Bianca over. The other reason I had called her over was to apologize for how I knocked her out.
