Everly immediately tensed up, and her nervousness overwhelmed her. "Valerio—"

"What do you mean by "you kill?!" Now actually serious, Valerio asked with no smile apparent on his face, and Everly swallowed hard.

"Valerio, I can explain." She shivered, having never seen him look at her like that. "I don't kill innocent people, okay. And listen, I did it for a reason." She said to him, hoping that he would at least hear her out and understand.

"It doesn't matter if they are innocent or not! I can't believe you kept such a thing from me up till now." A very rigid look ensued on Valerio's face, and he stood up from the bed.

He proceeded to walk away, but Everly grabbed his hand, stopping him. "Am sorry." She beseeched. "Please don't leave me. I beg you." She pleaded, but Valerio snatched his hand from her without saying a word.

He stormed out of the room, leaving Everly kneeling on the bed with a sad look in her eyes.
