Kapitel 259: I understand
"Princess, please give me a moment, I have a meeting to attend" said Dom as he looked up from his desk as Joy.
"Okay daddy" said Joy as she smiled, she just got back from school, and she was bored, so she decided to stay here with her daddy as she was colouring in her colouring book.
"Thank you princess" said Dom as he smiled for a brief moment before going back to what he was doing as he typed something on his laptop very seriously.
"Daddy" called Joy as she looked up from her colouring book.
"Yes Princess?" asked Dom as he looked at Joy.
"Daddy, why are you working from home?" asked Joy as she was curious, she wondered why her Father had not gone to the office lately.
"Well princess that's because the company is undergoing some renovations" said Dom as he explained.
"Renovations?" asked Joy as she did not understand that word.
"Yes Princess, Renovations" said Dom as he stopped typing.
"What's that daddy?" asked Joy in confusion.
"Well princess a renovation is… it's when…" said Dom as he paused, he was trying to figure out a simple way to explain a renovation to Joy.
"Alright Princess, a renovation is when, you know an old building right Princess?" asked Dom as Joy nodded her head.
"Well yes, when a building gets very old, the owners of the building usually want to make it new" said Dom.
"So they break down the old building and then they make a new one" said Dom.
"So they are breaking down the company?" asked Joy.
"Yes Princess we are, and instead, we are going to build a skyscraper" said Dom as he smiled.
"A Skyscraper?" asked Joy.
"Yes Princess" said Dom.
"Daddy you mean those tall buildings with glass everywhere that reach up to the sky?" asked Joy.
"Yes princess, like that" said Dom as he smiled.
"Wow daddy, that will be so cool" said Joy as she giggled.
"I know right princess? Your Grandpappy had the idea, he thought that there was no need to extend the office building, but rather we just tear the whole thing down and build something fit for this new age that we are in" said Dom as he smiled, although he was sure that he spoke too much and his princess did not understand half of what he was saying.
"Daddy how long will it take to build the skyscraper?" asked Joy.
"Well princess, building skyscrapers takes a very long time, so our estimated project end date is early next year, if all goes well" said Dom as he explained.
"Cool daddy, I want to see the skyscraper" said Joy as she giggled.
"Once it's done princess, I will take you to see it, but right now, they are still in construction" said Dom.
"As a matter of fact, I was going to check the construction site later today" said Dom.
"Oooh Daddy, can I come with you?" asked Joy with stars in her eyes.
"Sorry Princess but no, a construction site is too dangerous for children and I don't want to risk you getting hurt, your mommy would never forgive me if I let anything bad happen to you" said Dom as he said that last part in his mind.
"Okay daddy, I understand" said Joy as she smiled.
"Thank you, princess," said Dom as he smiled, he always loved that his princess was always so understanding.
"You are welcome daddy" said Joy as she giggled.
"Princess, I have a meeting now, can you be very quiet please?" asked Dom as he smiled.
"Okay daddy" said Joy as she smiled.
"Thank you Princess" said Dom as he smiled and Joy smiled at him as in that same moment, there was a knock on his office door.
"Come in" said Dom as he looked at his laptop and Amalia opened the door as she walked into the room.
"Good Afternoon sir" said Amalia as she smiled.
"Good Afternoon Amalia" said Dom as he looked at Amalia and he smiled.
"Hello Joy" said Amalia as she looked at Joy and she smiled at her as she waved.
"Helloo" said Joy as she giggled and she waved back at Amalia.
"What brings you here Amalia?" asked Dom as he smiled.
"Ahh Sir, I don't know if the Madam informed you, but she asked me to keep Joy company while you work" said Amalia as she looked at Dom and she smiled.
"I see" said Dom as Natasha did not inform him directly, but he did hear that when Natasha was speaking to Joy.
"Well you came just in time, I am about to have a meeting, and I am sure that Joy doesn't want to stay here and watch me work, it would be boring" said Dom as he laughed.
"Not to worry Sir, I understand" said Amalia as she smiled.
"Hey Joy, do you want to go have lunch with me? Your mommy doesn't like it when you eat lunch late" said Amalia as she looked at Joy and she smiled.
"Okay" said Joy as she giggled, she did not want to stay here while her daddy worked and said so many big words that she didn't understand.
"Come on let's go now Joy, so we can leave your daddy to work" said Amalia as she smiled and she stretched out her hand to Joy as Joy got down from the couch and she held Amalia's hand.
"Okay" said Joy.
"Bye daddy, enjoy your meeting" said Joy as she smiled and she waved at her daddy.
"I will princess, have fun and enjoy Lunch" said Dom as he smiled and Joy smiled at him.
"I will bring her back by 3pm Sir, will that be okay?" asked Amalia as she looked at Dom.
"It's perfect" said Dom as he smiled and Amalia nodded her head as she walked out the room with Joy as she closed the door behind her.
Dom smiled as in the same moment his phone rang and he picked up the call.
"What's up Michael?" asked Dom as he put his phone to his ear.
"Hey Dom, I wanted to know if the meeting has started on your side yet?" asked Michael as he smiled.
"No not yet, but I think we still have about five minutes" said Dom as he checked his watch.
"Alright, anyway, the real reason I called, I wanted to ask if you have the Delta files, Charlie over here lost them, you know what, I am not going to lie for him, he spilt orange juice all over the entire files" said Michael as he sounded agitated as Charlie laughed sheepishly.
"How? Was he using the files as napkins or what?" asked Dom as he could not believe this.
"I don't even know, don't ask me, all I know is that when I asked for the files, they were orange" said Michael as he scoffed, he was annoyed right now.
Dom just started to laugh, this was hilarious.
"Stop laughing Dom, it's not funny, you are only encouraging him, I spent so long compiling all those reports, and I was stupid enough to even dare leave It where Charlie is" said Michael.
"Hey it was an accident, blame the internet, there I was, sipping my orange juice, minding my own business, when I scrolled through my phone and I saw something unbelievable that made me spill all my orange juice, and well Michael's Delta files just happened to be right there on the counter top" said Charlie as Dom could hear his voice in the background.
"Whatever, Dom, do you have the files or not?" asked Michael as Dom laughed, he could tell that Michael was really pissed off this time.
"I have them Michael, relax, I will send you the digital copy you sent me" said Dom as he laughed and he opened his email.
"You know how I don't like to work with digital copies, but well, this will have to do since Charlie ruins everything I work hard on" said Michael as he shot daggers at Charlie with his eyes.
"Hey, hey, first of all, I only like to ruin Nine's things, guy needs to liven up a beat" said Charlie.
"I heard that" shouted Nine from the other room.
"I wasn't hiding it" said Charlie as he shouted back.
"Besides, it was only an accident, I didn't do it on purpose" said Charlie.
"Come on Michael, come on, it was an accident, I'm sorry" said Charlie as he smiled as Michael did not reply to him at all as Dom laughed.
"Alright you know what, I will make it up to you" said Charlie as he smiled.
"How?" asked Michael as he wanted to be sure that Charlie would not go creating an even bigger mess in his process of trying to make it up to him.
"You know those chocolates that you like so much?" asked Charlie as he smiled.
"Mhmm, the very rare ones, the ones from England?" asked Michael.
"Yes those ones, I will get you some to make it up to you" said Charlie as he smiled.
"Oh stop playing with me Charlie, how will you? You can't just get them like that" said Michael.
"Well trust me, I have a secret stash that I have been saving for your birthday hehe, I asked Lia to bring me some when she returned" said Charlie as he chuckled.
"You owe me a hundred dollars Charlie" shouted Nine from the other room.
"Yeah, yeah whatever" said Charlie as he scoffed.
"A hundred for what?" asked Dom.
"Nine made this bet with me that I will be unable to keep a secret" said Charlie.
"But I don't care, I revealed the secret for a good cause" said Charlie as he smiled.
"Just keep on telling yourself that Charlie" said Nine as Charlie scoffed.
"So do you forgive me?" asked Charlie as he looked at Michael and he smiled.
"Give me the chocolates first and then we will see" said Michael.
"You know what, you guys are too much, the meeting is starting, sort out whatever this feud it, and also Michael I sent you file already" said Dom as he laughed.
"I see it, see you in the meeting" said Michael.
"See you" said Dom as he ended the call and he shook his head.
"We on good terms yet?" asked Charlie.
"Give me the chocolates first and we'll see" said Michael.
"That's a yes" said Charlie as he smiled.
"Nine, give me the Chocolates that I asked you to keep for me" said Charlie as he shouted.
"Yeah yeah, I am on my way" said Nine as Charlie smiled.
"You see Mikey, all is good" said Charlie as he smiled and Michael scoffed at him.
"Be quiet, the meeting has started" said Michael as Charlie smiled.

Natasha hissed as she put more ice on her face, what luck she had, it just seemed that she was a magnet for unbearable people, they always seemed to be around her.
Natasha looked at her face in the bathroom mirror, somehow, it looked worse than before, she sighed as she decided to stop putting ice cubes on it as she prefer it healed on it's own.
Natasha walked out the bathroom as suddenly her phone rang and she picked it from her bed as she answered the call.
"Hello Mommy!!" said Joy as she excitedly greeted her mother.
"Hello my princess, how are you?" asked Natasha as she smiled and she put her phone to the left side of her face.
"I am good mommy" said Joy as she smiled.
"That's good my princess" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Mommy, I miss seeing you, I want to see you" said Joy as she missed seeing the face of her mommy.
"Ahh baby I..." said Natasha as she paused.
"We can switch to a video call princess" said Dom as he smiled.
"Really?" asked Joy as Dom smiled.
"No wait my baby, not right now, mommy doesn't really feel good about how she looks right now, my hair is all messy and all" said Natasha as she made up a quick excuse, she did not want her baby to see her bruises and ask what happened, and with Dom right there, it would be worse, she would not know how to explain herself.
"Really mommy?" asked Joy in sadness.
"Yes my baby, I look horrible right now, so no video calls today, how about some other day?" asked Natasha as she smiled.
"Okay mommy" said Joy sadly as Dom wondered what was wrong, Natasha was not one to care about her appearance, especially when it came to Joy, so for her to say that she looked horrible right now, Dom was sure that something else was wrong that she was not telling them.
Dom wondered if maybe she was in a bad place right now, or maybe she got hurt or something and she did not want Joy to see her like that.
"Thank you my baby, I will make it up to you" said Natasha as she smiled in relief.
"Okay mommy" said Joy.
"Yes my baby, so tell me about your day?" asked Natasha as she smiled, she knew that it was night time over there already, Joy had to be getting ready for bed already.
"Oh well mommy, I had lots of fun" said Joy.
"Really?" asked Natasha with a smile as Joy nodded her head and she continued on.
