Zoa's real pain was the betrayal from her mother. She had never taken much interest in her boyfriend as he was a man chosen by her mother. But she was never insincere with him.
Zoa had balanced her working life and private life perfectly balanced. 'Or I was a delusional person. I had never expected to get stabbed like this.', Zoa thought.
"What are you doing?", Asher asked again.
"The rain had stopped.", Zoa looked outside the window and remarked.
Zoa was done unwrapping her bandages. Zoa stood and asked, "Do you have something to dig in your house?"
Zoa had found a photo album in this cottage. She saw a boy around five years old with her parents. Zoa matched the boy's face with Asher's. She had made a rough guess that he was that boy. The boy also had a mole above his upper lip.
'This mole is sexy.', Zoa was lost in her thoughts again. Her mind was getting distracted easily because of lack of sleep and uncertain situations.
"Hey, to dig what?", Asher asked. "I've been calling you, but you are not responding.", Asher complained.
But Zoa ignored his complaint as he had ignored her question regarding ownership of this cottage.
"To dig my grave.", Zoa smiled.
"To dig what?", Asher stumbled back after hearing that. "You can't do this. I'll..."
"You will do what? Tie me and keep me here forever."
"I wish to do this."
"Don't fool around. I'm no good for you.", Zoa turned toward the door and moved the dead body aside. Zoa's wounds were bleeding again.
As the door opened, Zoa was standing there covered in bruises and wounds, shining in the sunlight. It was morning already. The night was gone. Asher felt a wave of fear in his body.
Asher was afraid to lose Zoa. He was afraid to lose his daylight. He ran toward Zoa and hugged her. "Don't leave me again.", He pleaded.
"Again?", Zoa asked. But Asher didn't reply. His hands were trembling. Zoa held his hands.
"Hey, I'm not going to die. We are only going to dig a grave.", Zoa told him.
"Why?", Asher asked innocently.
"I'll tell you when you will bring something to dig.", Zoa demanded.
Asher was going to return to the cottage to find something before his stomach spoke. "Grrrrrr.."
Zoa laughed hard. "You are hungry?", She asked. "Let's feed you something.", Zoa grabbed his hand and took him to the cottage.
"Feed me what?", Asher asked in a playful tone. "Food or what?", Zoa feigned ignorance.
'Hey, I don't want to eat food. I want to eat something else.", Asher touched Zoa's legs as she was checking the bag to find something to eat.
Zoa pushed him away and handed him some snacks and cup noodles. "Eat this and tell me where I can find digging tools.", Zoa said.
"You are injured. You.." Zo put her finger on Asher's mouth and murmured, "I can't take rest doctor. If I'll take rest. Then I'll die. I need to keep working to keep myself alive. Tell me what I can find here."
Asher was going to stand but Zoa forced him to remain sit by grabbing his arm. "Just tell me. I'll start the work. You can join me later after finish eating.", Zoa suggested.
"There!", Asher pointed his finger in the direction of the bed. "Where?", Zoa asked.
"Just go there." Zoa walked to the opposite side of the bed. "Jump here.", Asher demanded as he was eating noodles.
"What?"
"Just jump."
Zoa jumped and found that there was something beneath the carpet. She removed the carpet and found a hidden place. She found a shovel, spade, fork, and a trowel.
'Why did I not know about this place before? I could have used them better.', Zoa thought.
"My father had gardening as his hobby. My mother was against his hobby because he had a tumor and was often sick. That's why he had made this hideout to save his babies.", Asher told her.
"Babies?"
"Yes, he used to treat his tools like kids. He talked to them for hours."
Zoa was feeling guilty for using these tools to make a grave. But she had no other choice. "I'm going. When you are done. Come with this blondie", Zoa ordered.
Zoa meant that dead man by the term blondie. Asher was happy to hear that this grave was for that man. 'Why did this idea not cross my mind?'
Asher silently finished his food. "I need to work hard to satisfy my lady's demands.", Asher said while dragging the dead body of that hit man.
Zoa had half finished digging the grave. She looked pale. Her whole body was covered in blood. Her dress, hands, legs, and everything was dirty in the mud. Asher was freighted to witness her like this.
Asher felt a sensation that he was going to see Zoa in that grave. He immediately embraced her. "Hey, stop this.", Zoa replied with an exhausted voice.
Asher removed the dirt from her face with her hands. He clasped her cheeks with her soft and gentle hands. Zoa's hands were rough and full of scrapes. Her hands were not smooth like Asher's hand.
Asher was a surgeon. Her hands were her biggest strength. He needed to take extra care of them. He needed to treat and examine his patient's bodies skillfully with his hands. His hands were his power.
Just like Zoa, whose hands were her biggest strength as well. She needed her hands to sign the exclusive deals for her business. But her world was also not as bright as Asher's. She always had threats where everyone was after her life.
She needed to strengthen herself physically and mentally to bear all the torture. Her life was always at risk unlike her stable business empire, which she had created with her hard work and dedication.
Zoa pushed her hands away and took the shove.
"Finish it. I'll bring some water.", Zoa handed him the shovel and turned to the cottage.
"Zoa, what are you doing?", Asher pleaded to her.
"Please, I can't do this. How could I?", Asher kept begging but Zoa was determined to do this.
"Bury me here.", Zoa ordered him.
