Kapitel 37: Training With Bennett

(A/N: Should I use 'sound' effects? I didn't use it here, so I'm considering using it in future chapters.)

David, who was in his room, playing with magic had no idea what was happening in the Vale household.

**(Servant's Quarters)**

The servant's quarters aren't too bad. It was basically what people in the modern world would call a dormitory. Basic needs were fulfilled, kitchens, bathrooms, separate beds, water, space, etc.

The servants were currently talking to each other in their dorms as it was for most of them, their off day.

"Did you guys hear? We have a new young master here!"

"What? Is he handsome like young master Bennett?"

"Definitely, to become a child of such a high-ranking household, high expectations are needed!"

"Maybe... we should ask young master Bennett about this?"

"No way! We'll see him eventually anyways!"

"Wait, who's that?... Madam!?"

"Huh? The madams here?"

"Let's go! We need to receive her."

The servants quickly and efficiently wore their uniforms and respectfully greeted her, "Welcome, Madam."

"Rise, I need two servants to buy these for the... new young master. You two will buy them, understand?" She smiled dotingly.

"Understood Madam!" The other maids and butlers went back to their quarters while the maid and butler duo at the front stared at the list.

They looked at each other, nodded, and split the work up before going outside to buy some supplies for their new young master.

**(In The House)**

"You... wanna... train with me?" David poked at Bennett.

"Hm? Alright sure. I haven't been in any battles since 4 days ago. Wait for me, I need to go bakc to my room to change." Bennett went back to his room.

David went to test out his powers a bit, after he was done, he changed back into his training outfit, and went to the courtyard and saw that for some reason, there were actually servants here.

He arrived in the courtyard, sparing only a glance at the servants before getting a space for himself and Bennett. As he wanted to know more about the basics first, he grabbed one of the regular wooden swords from the bin next to him before pushing the bin to the side.

The servants heard the noise and saw the crest on David's left arm, surprised.

'So he's the new young master? Handsome!' all of the servants said... yes, including the butlers.

David felt the stares, he turned away from them. Getting the message, the servants went back to their work after snapping out of their daze.

Bored that Bennett was taking so long, David planted the wooden sword into the ground and started doing stretches. Due to his hybrid body, he was able to do all sorts of tricks, making his body go in all sorts of ways that it shouldn't be possible. But! Doing that would attract attention, so he did the regular streches and some slightly more flexible stretches as well.

Seeing that he was able to execute his entire range of motion, he picked up the sword again. He began doing some test swings to feel the weight.

'It's much lighter than I thought.' David didn't want to cheat and make his own sword, so he just kept swinging the sword to get used to it. Then, he also trained his left hand, repeating the same motion until he felt it was comfortable enough on both hands.

"Alright, I'm back!" Bennett ran to David, carrying a wooden sword.

"Any way, I saw that you were doing this morning. It seems as if you were constantly correcting yourself? Your stances and forms while swinging the sword became more and more stable. So... want to test out what you learned?" Bennett had a firery glint in his eyes, pumping his fist in excitement.

"Sure." David gave a bland reply.

They both walk to the edges of the courtyard. David just had a basic sword/katana stance, with the sword in front of him while Bennett had his foot planted to the ground and his sword moving freely on his right hand.

Making eye contact, they both nodded, counting in their heads.

...Begin!

David stayed rooted while Bennett charged at him. Appearing right in front of him, Bennett swung his sword upwards, creating a beautiful arc diagonally. Due to the difference in their senses and attributes, David was easily able to dodge the strike.

He was about to counter when he saw something in front of him, a finger that was charging mana around it. Bennett smirked as his finger had a condensed fireball the size of a coin, ready to fire.

'Guess I gotta keep going then...' Because David was still in the motion of returning his head upright, instead of hitting the fireball directly, he opened his mouth to also fire a fireball.

The shockwave of the two fireballs threw the two away from each other. Bennett stabbed the sword downward to stop himself from being blown back any further while David was backflipping (DBZ style).

David could already feel that his skills were improving as he was fighting something with a much higher 'skill' level than him.

David noticed that he wasn't breathing properly, and so, his own was constantly correcting him.

They smirk at each other before charging again. Their wooden sword clash again, they were in each other's face with a smile on their faces.

"Not bad... Friend!" Bennett clenched his teeth at how much strength David had.

"You too!" David wanted to exert more strength, but since it was training and his attributes way outclassed Bennett's, he held back to enjoy the fight a bit more.

They pushed each other off before engaging in an intense clash of around 10 or more strikes per second.

Due to his inexperience, David was slowly getting pushed back... but as the clash went on, Bennett noticed that it was getting increasingly harder to get an advantage over him.

The fury of slashes kept happening, and even though David was constantly improving, it didn't stop him from getting hit multiple times.

After a few dozen seconds later, David had already memorized Bennett's patterns and begun to act on them. He could also tell that his {Sword Technique} was getting an enormous amount of experience right now, and if it were alive, it would definitely be very happy.

David got a bit of distance by slipping in a surprise kick, making Bennett quickly jump back. Before he could even land on the ground, he saw a shadow... it was David who was rushing at him.

Looking up, he saw how clearly David's eyes were focused and locked onto him as he skillfully swung his sword downward. It landed on Bennett's right shoulder, causing him to change course and crash even harder onto the ground.

Bennett panicked as he unconsciously loosened his grip on his sword and lost his balance... before he knew it, he was already on the ground, with two wooden swords on his neck with David putting a knee on his chest to stop him from moving.

"I... admit defeat." Bennett held his hands up.

Taking away the swords, David threw them in the air and pulled Bennett up. Before he could ask where David threw them, he heard a thud and saw that the two training swords were in the bin with the other weapons.

"It seems like I still have much to learn! It was quite fun." David nodded, without a sweat.

'Not bad...' David siped the screen away.

Looking around them, Bennett began panicking again, seeing what he did to the courtyard. David smiled wryly at the damage done.

Suddenly the door opened, "Boys... what's going on?" They saw Sarah in the house, opening the door to the courtyard, only to see a nearly demolished courtyard. There were some flames, dirt, cracked stone, and some other stuff everywhere.

'Well... shit.' they both thought, seeing her smile.
