Bennet and David were best friends, meeting each other in elementary school, and oh so coincidently also meet in middle school, further tying their friendship together. It was also because of their chemistry together, even though David was average, it was more like Bennett was constantly bothering him... in a good way?
Their bromance was quite strong, to the point, there were even some rumors of them being gay, as most of the time when it was allowed, they were almost always together.
The way that they meet was kind of expected, where due to David's average looks, but high grades, he was bullied for being "arrogant" just because he doesn't talk very often. To be honest, he was considered quite smart but just didn't have the courage to learn more as he didn't want to be bullied more than he already was.
Throughout elementary school, Bennett was the one protecting David most of the time and also got into trouble. Making his first friend, David does his best to help him any way he can, by studying, cooking, and just being with him and supporting him along the way.
By the time they were in middle school, they would already be inseparable, even to some couples. It was at this time, where the rumors spread, but they didn't really care because if they tried to refute it, it would make them look like they do like each other anyway.
Even in high school, David was almost always with Bennett, as Bennett always did have that personality that was bright, and for others to come flocking to him. Because of this, David had always felt lucky to have a friend like him... even if he is a bit muscle brained.
(A/N: In this world, before the 'incident' happened, Bennet had a completely different look. Please look at the brief description of him in the main story, please! I would rather not be too descriptive to confuse you.)

Bennett was just coming home from school. Bennet, a sophomore in high school from the same private academy as David, though he got in due to his excellence in sports and barely passable grades.
"Finally out of school for the week... Jesus, class was boring." Bennett scratched his silky black hair, walking to his dorms.
As it was Friday, and their school did give them weekend assignments, he called David.
"Hey man! You got any plans for the weekend?" Bennett asked excitedly.
"No... I don't, when are you coming over?" David replied with his brows raised.
"Hehe, you know me so well, I'm going to come over in a few hours! Could you cook some curry for me?" Bennett asked expectantly.
"... Sigh... got it, I'm going to go eat now, so do whatever you're going to do before you come copying my homework, alright?" David asked playfully.
"Hm! Hm! Got it, sir! Hehe..." He laughed, seeing that he was found so quickly by David
"Alright then, see you in the evening." On the other side, David smiled as he was doing his homework.
"Ok then. Bye, David!" Bennett yelled through the phone before hanging up.
Smiling, he changed into his white tank top and white sports shorts, revealing his toned muscles and abs that were being outlined from his tank top. With his body and tanned looks alone, it would've sent some school girls to literally throw themselves at him.
He spent these couple of hours exercising to keep his shape. Running laps around the school track with the school's track team, then after warming himself up, he goes to the gym for a heavy workout. After he was done with those activities, only around an hour and a half had passed, so he took a shower and cleaned up.
After cleaning up, he brought a small backpack and put some clothes into it as he was ready to stay at David's home for the weekend.
After everything was organized, he wore a blue puffy jacket with a white shirt underneath and some casual black pants before heading out.
As he was in a good mood, he even began chanting, "Copy the homework... copy the homework..."
He remembered that David was going to buy some food for the next 2 weeks, so he went to the market nearest to David's place. It was night time, so the street lamps were on and the lights of the buildings around him as well, creating quite a sight.
After a few minutes of more jogging, he was almost to the market he always used to pass through to get to David's place.
He saw David coming out of the market in the corner of his eye, smiling he started running faster so that he could surprise him.
But as he ran, a truck zoomed past him...
'huh? What... was-' Bennett was confused why someone was driving so fast at night until he saw where the truck was going.
His eyes widened, and without any thought, he ran forward... as fast as possible, faster than he ever had before.
He saw that David had barely dodged the crash, and he sighed in relief, slightly slowing down his speed as he was still worried since he was just in the face of death.
Then another truck appeared for some reason... out of no where. Bennett was in panic mode, so he didn't even scream, but instead, ran towards David.
'Come on... come on... come on! Faster!' Bennett yelled in his mind.
With sweat dripping down his face, his eyes slightly bloodshot, brows furrowed in worry, he quickly and sluggishly made it towards Daivd.
By the time he reached within a legs space from David, he was ready to push him away.
Then, a light flashed onto his face, David and Bennet were both sent flying onto a nearby building...
