David woke up and cleaned up before eating at the inn. This time, however, to slightly reward himself for his first quest, he got a decently expensive meal. He ate a large rare steak with shrimp and garlic, costing him a whole 2 large bronze coins!

(A/N: Due to his genes, David was able to live off of very little food, though he chooses to eat a crap ton... hey! No judging! We like food here!)

After he was done eating his breakfast, seeing that it was still early, he wanted to see if there were any interesting quests for his rank, even though he knows that 99/100 times, it's most likely going for herb collection or even doing other people's chores...

'Yep... just herb collection quests... Meh, I'll stick around.' David had nothing else to do except monotonous training, might as well stay and look at some of the more experienced adventurers and see which one seems the kindest and ask for advice.

Waiting for thirty minutes, he saw how everyone slowly left as they all had their quests papers for the day, ready to spend days to weeks or even months on end completing them as the highest quest here is a C rank quest.

"Tch... guess I'll just try and refine my own movements myself..." David got up and left the Adventurer's Guild, seeing that everyone... well, all the adventurers leave.

'...sigh... they are at most cranked adventurers, makes sense...' David greeted the guards again as he left the walls to go on another adventure.

While he was out of the walls, he walked on the corners of the stone paths, looking at his {Mini-Map} to see what else he could try to explore.

With his experience in using the {Mini-Map}, it did give him some warnings, the areas that could be somewhat safely explored would be covered by regular clouds while those that have mini-boss/boss or just places that could be dangerous to his life were usually covered with dark clouds that seemed to be thundering.

"Fighting new monsters would be good for my experience and tactics in using whatever I have against them, maybe I could hit some requirements to make some new magic..." David did find out that unless he had a complete image and process of how a certain spelled worked, it usually had to be learned through tough practice, or when he gets an epiphany when fighting monsters.

basically, the system would just have three exploration levels, white clouds for safe, grey clouds for somewhat to quite dangerous, though it also depends on the shade of grey, black clouds for "Just don't do it, man..."

Seeing that there were lightly shaded clouds, David went on to the right instead of the left for when he did the quests yesterday.

As he was still quite near the city, the surrounding biomes are quite tropical, having rainforests, grasslands, plains, etc.

Seeing as the further he went onto the grasslands the darker the clouds became. David went in until it was in a slightly darker shade of grey, only to see that there were some beasts.

Lions that had their skin turned blue with a slight tint of green on some parts of their fur. Buffalos that had turned into a plant-like animal, and a bunch of other grassland/savannah animals that had their own specific mutations and evolutions, turning them into this.

Due to the environment, David was crouching, hiding under some tall grass, looking for some easy prey since all the "monsters" he fought on the quest were actually quite weak... well, maybe except the bears.

Going for the lion pack first, he used {Apprasial} to find out which one had the weakest attributes or skills, after all, killing even the weakest of the pack in one blow could make a few animals panic.

As it was quite spacious here, the wind mana was coincidently abundant here, so gathering the right amount of mana for his {Wind Orb} to a point where it could kill, yet not be detected was quite easy as well as his {Magic Control} was quite good now...

He held his arms out, with some energy flowing into his arm, a small pressure loomed over his palm. Aiming at the back of the lions, he fired.

*Thud...*

They didn't sense a thing until they heard something make a noise behind them.

They were now alert, seeing that one of their family members died so easily without them noticing.

They even instinctively banded together and grouped up into one small bunch, though there was enough space so it wasn't cramped for them so they could escape if the enemy was too strong for them.

"Good... good..." David smiled as they had fallen into his trap.

His most convenient spell, {Earth Spike}, is for basically anything that doesn't resist the earth element not is it in the air, making it the perfect spell to group everyone together before piercing them in one swoop.

A few small bumps slowly appeared in front of the lions, making them slightly confused, but before they could react, they were all pierced by the spikes piercing them.

The small pack of 11 lions (not including the already dead one), all fell to the ground as there were multiple finger-sized (index finger) holes on their torso, completely piercing their hearts and other organs.

"...Not too bad... their fur is quite good, maybe it should've just aimed for the head..." David looked at the holes in the lions, and due to that, they would be slightly ruined, lowering their sell price.

Dismantling them in the tall grass, he separated the fur, organs, meat, and other body parts into small pieces before storing them into his inventory.

David looked at the animals around him, clueless about the takedown of a whole predator pack in less than a minute.

"Huh... guess this is the perfect time... right before patrol starts, clearing the beasts and land here, guess I'll have a share first if they don't mind..." David licked his lips, smirking.
