Kapitel 11: Lucas 'POV' [6]

I did not pay much attention to these changes, but just assumed that it was because of the proper amount of sleep l was taking.

I wore my shoes and locked the door. I turned around and saw my neighbor for the first time. She was a middle-aged aunt, but the strange thing was that the moment I saw her, I felt a connection with her. She did not see me, but as I turned to go towards the elevator, she saw the back of my neck.

Furthermore, she exclaimed after seeing it. I felt strange and touched the back of my neck subconsciously, but didn't feel anything. In her strange gaze, I walked towards the elevator. After the elevator's door was closed, I pondered why the aunt was behaving strangely.

'Is there something strange on the back of my neck?', l thought while getting out of the elevator and walking towards the community gate.

About ten minutes later, I reached the supermarket and directly walked towards the shelf containing daily necessities. I knew, l had to use the money, so l tried my best to purchase limited amount of things. Out of the ten thousand bucks, I only had five thousand left, after paying the rent and purchasing a cheap smartphone.

I purchased a set of towels, a toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, and two bottles of shampoo. Then, I remembered my original intention of coming out. I quickly checked out from the supermarket and walked towards the mall, which was a walking distance from here.

After entering the mall, l walked straight towards the men section and selected two sets of pajamas, two t-shirts, two pair of shoes and one pair of jeans. I checked out of the counter and started walking towards my community, carrying two plastic bags in each hand.

I reached the community after about fifteen minutes and waited for the elevator to arrive. I entered the elevator after the door opened and clicked the button indicating the second floor.

After walking out of the elevator, l gave a look to my neighbor's door, it was closed tightly.

It took me some time to take out my key as, I was holding plastic bags in my hand. l put the plastic bags containing daily necessities on the ground and searched inside my pocket.

l inserted, the key in the keyhole and opened the door. l picked up the plastic bags from the ground and closed the door of my house after taking a second look at my neighbor's door.

I arranged the clothes in my closet and put the daily necessities in the bathroom. Afterwards, I realized, l was feeling hungry, and decided to eat some noodles.

I went downstairs and ordered a bowl of noodles without coriander, after eating the bowl of noodles, it was already nine thirty. I decided to take a stroll and then go back.

While l was taking a walk, l remembered that it's been almost three days since l met 'Master'. I decided to chant the spell after finding a hidden place.

I found the same alley where l was dragged by Daniel's gang members. After chanting the spell, l waited for some time, but nothing happened. l tried to chant the spell again, halfway through it, l heard his voice, and turned around to see, he was standing there in the dark giving a creepy and dangerous feeling.

''Why did you call me?'', he asked.

''Can you tell me why do l need to injure Stefan?'', l asked a question that was always present in my mind.

''Just do what you are told to do, and don't ask unnecessary questions if you still want to become my disciple'', he replied arrogantly.

l pursed my lips unwillingly and decided to change the subject, ''Did you send Daniel to help me?''

''Him? Humph!, he is not worthy of my attention. They are just some chess pieces, l needed to include in your task'', he said, looking down on the importance, l placed on Daniel.

''Then what about me? Am l also one of your chess pieces?'', l asked, refusing to believe that the person, l looked up to, treated others like that.

''You? No. You are not a chess piece. You are my precious soon to-be disciple'', he said, somewhat maliciously.

l failed to perceive this maliciousness, which led both of us to an end. Louis and Lucas's existence would not have been erased from this world if only, l would have been wary of 'Master'.
