I settled at the dining table, fork in hand, ready to eat. The aroma of freshly baked bread and roasted vegetables filled the air, but before I could take a bite, a sharp, familiar sensation hit me. The System's voice rang in my mind.

'New mission available. Uncover the truth behind Isabella's death.'

I froze my fork just above the plate. "What?" I asked aloud before remembering the servants were still around. I glanced around the room, relieved to see they hadn't noticed anything unusual.

In my mind, I responded, 'Isabella's death? Wasn't it... didn't she die by suicide?'

'That is the official version,' The System replied calmly, though there was an edge to its tone, almost as if it doubted my question.

I frowned, setting my fork down. 'Why this mission? Why now? You just gave me a task last week.'
