Kapitel 76: The final judgement

I watched Nicholas as his mother wheeled him away, his face pale, eyes full of desperation. He looked like a shadow of the man he once was, but I felt no sympathy.

Whatever pity I'd had for him was long gone, crushed by everything he'd done. The hurt he'd caused ran too deep, and I wasn't going to let myself feel sorry for someone who'd chosen his path so willingly.

When Captain Gerard turned to me, I nodded, silently telling him that I was done here. There was nothing left to say to Nicholas, nothing I needed to hear from him. Now he was paying the price, and I didn't feel an ounce of regret watching him suffer for it.

I turned and walked away, trying to push the memory of his pleading voice from my mind. I wanted to focus on the fact that he was finally going to face judgment. 

Both he and Elara would be banished, just like my father. After all the damage they'd caused, justice was finally catching up to them.
