51.72% A New Life With Minecraft Power As Naruto / Chapter 45: The Journey to the Land of Waves

Kapitel 45: The Journey to the Land of Waves

The next day, early morning, Team 7 assembled at Konoha's gate, arriving ten minutes early to wait for their sensei, Kakashi. Thankfully, their Jōnin leader was somewhat reliable, showing up only five minutes late for their first mission outside the village.

Upon Kakashi's arrival, Naruto's initial reaction was to grab him by the neck and show him the time. But the white-haired Jōnin brushed off their complaints, claiming confidently that his alarm clock was five minutes slow. "Being a few minutes late... that's not late," he stated.

Naruto, unimpressed by this excuse, rolled his eyes. "Kakashi-sensei, you are wrong to think so! If you're five minutes late, you're wasting five minutes of each of our time! That's a total of twenty minutes!"

Kakashi: ?

Sasuke: ?

Sakura: ?

Dazna: ???

Naruto remembered a similar lecture from his teachers during school, a lecture he had despised. Yet here he was, using it against the tardy Kakashi. Was he really becoming the person he used to hate?

Kakashi, momentarily at a loss for words, couldn't immediately refute Naruto's logic. It made sense, but it felt off somehow. Sasuke and Sakura looked equally bewildered by Naruto's sudden maturity.

"Haha, don't worry about the small details," Kakashi laughed awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Let's go."

He had learned that the best way to handle Naruto was to let him vent and then shift his focus. Adjusting his gear, Kakashi led the team and their client, Dazna, out of the village.

As soon as Team 7 exited the gate, a wave of Konoha ninjas rushed towards the Hokage building, eager to snatch up the remaining low-level missions. If Naruto had seen this, he might have thought he had stepped into some sort of post-apocalyptic world.

With the village gate behind them, Team 7 officially embarked on their journey to the Land of Waves. To ensure the safety of both their client and Sakura, the weakest link, Kakashi assigned Sasuke to the front while Naruto took the rear, ready to respond to any unexpected threats.

Kakashi led the way, occasionally pulling out his latest issue of "Icha Icha Paradise" and reading it with an engrossed smile, much to Naruto's bewilderment. How could someone find joy in reading about little Liu Bei, Naruto wondered? Despite having access to similar material in his previous life, he couldn't understand Kakashi's enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Sakura, carrying a backpack, frequently glanced at Sasuke's profile, blushing each time. Her thoughts were a mystery, as always.

Dazna, observing the peculiar dynamics of the group, grew increasingly concerned. The white-haired Jōnin seemed more interested in his book than in the mission, the girl was clearly infatuated with her teammate, and the blond at the rear... What was he doing?

Naruto, wielding a wooden stick, was busy swatting at the surrounding flora. He seemed almost compulsive, poking at bushes as they passed. Dazna's face wrinkled with worry. Could he get a refund? The old man regretted lowballing the mission details. Was cheap always bad?

Despite Dazna's skepticism, Naruto's actions were calculated. He used the stick to check for any lurking ninjas, ensuring their path was clear. It wasn't just idle play—definitely not because he liked the straight stick too much.

Naruto's thoughts were interrupted as he accidentally stepped into a puddle, soaking his pant leg. Annoyed at the wetness and potential bacteria, he tried shaking off the water, kicking his leg to dry it.

Suddenly, two figures burst from the puddles ahead and behind the team. The first ninja leaped out from under Naruto's feet, shouting, "Kid! I've had enough of you! Go to hell!"

Before Naruto could react, his reflexive kick sent the ninja flying. "What just happened?" he wondered aloud, as the enemy hurtled away. Sasuke quickly dispatched the other attacker with a kunai, the body falling with a grotesque twist.

Naruto stared in disbelief. Was this really it? He'd expected a more thrilling encounter.

Kakashi barely glanced up from his book, unfazed by the brief skirmish. But Naruto... he was truly unpredictable, always keeping everyone on their toes.

Sakura, on the other hand, felt a pang of inadequacy. The lethal intent of the ambush had frozen her, leaving her only able to raise her kunai defensively. If not for Sasuke's timely intervention, she feared she and Dazna might have perished.

Seeing her distress, Kakashi slowed his pace and offered some quiet reassurance. "Sakura, don't worry too much. People's bodies are different."

Sakura looked up, glancing between her teammates and teacher. "But why are the gaps between people so big?" she murmured, feeling overwhelmed.

Kakashi paused, then smirked, a glint of humor in his eye. "Sakura, you may have misunderstood what I meant. They're not human at all."

Uchiha Sasuke: ?

Uzumaki Naruto: ?

The two boys turned, confusion evident in their eyes. What was Kakashi even talking about?
