Kapitel 7: 7 years later: A single impulse that transforms a life.. - Part4

Note: Since I didn't publish it yesterday, I opted to paste the conclusion of the preceding chapter. The subsequent chapter will be more extensive and will complete the time skip adjustment.

- What am I wearing for the night? - A flushed Kara looked at various outfits while indecisive about what to wear, after all, Eduard had forgotten to warn her that their outing would be into the sun and that only Kryptonian clothes would really do any good, if not it would be better to just go without clothes as Eduard had been doing until recently.

[Kara, as funny as it is to watch you like this, I think I'd better warn you]

While Kara was in doubt, Cortana's voice came from her cell phone on the bed, making her stop and look at the phone in confusion.

[Eduard is going to leave the planet with you, so you'd better wear a Kryptonian suit].

Kara, who listened to the message, was confused for a few moments before embarrassment took over, after all, as a Kryptonian leaving the planet, could count as a romantic date, right?

Shaking her head Kara put her thoughts aside and began to think about what outfit to wear today; after much thought she chose to go to the fortress and pick up a combat suit just like Eduard's, but completely black where the EL house symbol would be silver, after dressing she returned to the apartment and waited for Eduard.

[You're really careless Kara... Do you know how many cameras I've had to hack just now?]

- I'm only careless because I have you and Ed~

[Sigh...]

Cortana sighed, imitating Eduard even in tone, but she was still happy with Kara's current behavior; Cortana still remembers how closed off she was in the first few weeks and avoided Eduard in every possible way, she only started to open up a little when she saw some of Eduard's data on Kryptonians and realized that he was also a Kryptonian like her, and even after that she only trusted him after months together and over time she ended up becoming a little dependent on him, not in an extreme way, but she who at first was extremely careful doesn't seem to mind flying around the world since she believes that Eduard and I will cover her, and in the end we really will...

[Sigh...]

- What is it, Cortana? - Kara, who was distracted, was surprised that Cortana sighed again and looked at her own cell phone.

[It's nothing... You can go, Eduard is waiting for you at the top of the building.]

- Okay~

- Ed! - Kara appeared and hugged him hard enough to demolish the building.

- Nice outfit! - Even with the sudden hug Eduard just smiled and complimented her on her outfit, which in his opinion was much better than his own, which was flashier; she wasn't even wearing a cape.

- Just the clothes? - Kara asked provocatively as she let go of him and turned around.

- No, you look amazing too. - Eduard replied, smiling and lightly squeezing her cheeks before becoming a little more serious. - Let's get away from the city before we fly off the planet, okay?

- Okay~

- GOOD!!! - After a minute, a rumble echoed a few kilometers from the city, alerting the people nearby, but in the end, nothing came of it apart from a few rumors in the area.

- So, Ed, what did you want to show me? - Kara asked through the telepathy that after a year she had awakened as Eduard, she approached Eduard and leaned on him slightly.

Eduard ignored the fact that Kara was leaning on him and gazed at the planet for a few more moments, appreciating its beauty; it was indeed stunning, even when compared to other planets in the solar system; Kara seeing his attention on the planet also turned her attention to him and observed him in silence while resting her body against Eduard's body, with time she also came to appreciate the beauty of the planet in front of her, even if she still considered Krypton more beautiful and better overall she still managed to connect with this planet, and one of the main reasons for this was the teenager next to her, one of the last three living Kryptonians that she knows of.

- Come on... - he sent the message telepathically to Kara and without waiting for a reply he grabbed her hand and flew with her towards the sun.

As they both approached the sun, Kara began to feel strange in her body. It was a refreshing, rejuvenating, calming and stimulating sensation. She had only felt this way the first time she had bathed in the earth's sunlight, but even then, the sensation was nowhere near as pleasant as it was now, the feeling was simply addictive to her.

- "We'll sleep here whenever we can from now on, okay?" Eduard could understand her reaction, since his own was the same.

- Of course! - Kara exclaimed mentally as she smiled at Eduard and pulled him by the hand until they were in a place she considered comfortable; after that she didn't want to say much and just snuggled in, and the way she did it surprised Eduard so much that he didn't know how to react and just watched as she made him sit up, and she sit on him lap and made him hold her before she simply fell asleep. Eduard spent the next few minutes with Kara's hands wrapped around his neck and her head resting on his chest as she simply slept ignoring everything around her.

[Interesting.]

Eduard ignored Cortana's teasing tone and looked at Kara's slightly flushed face and realized that her absorption of the sun seems to use up most of her current energy so it's understandable that she needs to sleep even though she's in the sun where her body will always be full of energy. - Forget it, it's not like I have a problem with this situation...

Eduard shrugged and just positioned her as comfortably as possible before simply waiting for the time to pass while watching holograms that Cortana could show him about her plans or just books, he liked to pass the time.

The night passed uneventfully for Eduard and Kara, as daylight approached in NY Eduard was forced to get out of the sun with Kara still asleep in his arms and after leaving she started behaving in a spoiled and grumpy way to Eduard's misfortune who even ended up getting a few "pats" that could level a few hills as she complained that she wanted to stay a little longer; the funny thing was that after sleeping in the sun she seemed less shy with him and didn't even bother to leave his arms the whole way.

- We've arrived... - Eduard had to make them both invisible with magic since he didn't know how to teleport long distances or with other people.

- Five more minutes... - Kara ignored Eduard´s warning and increased her grip around his neck for a few more minutes before she went back to sleep, and Eduard could put her to bed.

- I think I'd better spend the day with her, it's noticeable that she doesn't control her current strength very well... - Eduard muttered. - Cortana, use a field drone to write a notice that I went out with Kara and leave it in my room and have it show up on the footage.

[Consider it done Ed!]

Barbara POV:

- hum... Huummm... Humm...~ - Barbara hummed as she ate breakfast and read a note she found in her brother's room. - I guess I can assume they're dating? - She muttered to herself with an expression of doubt. - That was definitely fast...

Barbara finished her coffee while lost in thought before simply ignoring it and returning to her room, and after confirming that no one was home she turned on her watch which put her room's camera on a loop as if she were studying. - Now let's get to work! - Barbara then pulled out a laptop that she had built herself and had its own operating system that she had also programmed. - Let's get started Vita!

[Good morning, Miss Barbara, what are we doing today?]

- Let's start by hacking Shield and then other government agencies, I want to see if I can find some more special people like my brother! - Barbara learned a lot from her mother in the beginning, and over time she surpassed her by a really considerable margin, making her currently the second greatest security expert in the world and consequently she also knew how to break into most places without leaving a trace, the only exception being her brother's bases which she never managed to break into; and thanks to this she was forced to spy on her brother in other ways with equipment she had developed just for surveillance and what she discovered was truly incredible, not only was her brother incredible but so was his new girlfriend, she was really getting more and more excited about spying, but at the same time she was excited about the idea of telling her brother what she knew and offering to help him; Barbara knew that with the information she had collected she could destroy her brother's current life and most likely his future since she had seen how the government has been persecuting people called "mutants", but that's precisely why she continued to look for information about her brother and the others, she decided to convince him to help these people and maybe let her work with him as his helper, of course this is only her future perspective since knowing her brother he will end up wearing that outfit again.

[I found four targets as well as records of their activities, the most interesting of which are Logan and Charles; Charles may be the least significant in assembling an action team if you don't mind me saying so miss].

- Hmm... - Barbara began to read the information from all four of them and really thought that the best option would be to find Logan and then talk to her brother. The only problem was that the man was really good at disappearing and seemed to be running away from something.

- It's going to be a complicated hunt, especially with my resources... - All I could do was accept that it would take years with a single laptop, so I went back to doing other things like collecting legal blackmail; given how the government tried to control "special" people, I was sure that my brother and his girlfriend would face these problems, and I also knew that even though my brother was a genius and also suspicious, he tended to be sloppy, I knew that he wouldn't think of using blackmail until his image was already very damaged, so I decided to erase his weakness by protecting him before he even started to be attacked, just as he had done for me all my life. A smile was etched on Barbara's face as she continued her work for a few more hours without imagining that when she had finished her work, her brother would appear once again and save the day, both with her clothes and without them.

3rd person POV:

Eduard was confident he had made the correct choice when Kara's first action upon waking up was to unintentionally break her desk while trying to get up. He even had to feed her as there were no utensils or glasses left for her that morning, after all, she broken them, he even used a simple but useful cleaning magic so that she wouldn't have to shower that morning; honestly, this was Eduard's most complicated day by far since Kara was being forced to float and pretend to walk for fear of breaking something in her apartment. This torture for both of them lasted all morning and part of the afternoon until Kara finally managed to open one door without too much effort, of course, she still couldn't use a glass without breaking it 4 times out of 10, but it was a start.

- Kara, I need to go out for a while. - After finishing collecting the glass shards from they had broken during their "training," Eduard said.

- All right, I'll keep practicing! - Eduard smiled at how focused she was as she held a glass cup in both hands as if it were a precious jewel; Eduard couldn't resist taking a photo of Kara looking at and holding the cup with all his attention. After putting his cell phone away Eduard just turned with a smile and left her apartment, and when he closed the door, his smile disappeared, and a determined expression appeared on his face.

- Did you really find him?

[Yes... I don't know the date he was supposed to show up in town or when he was supposed to meet the girl you asked me to monitor, but it just happened in a bar fight... Honestly, this is well outside the estimated timeframe since Matt Murdock hasn't graduated or started his career as a vigilante yet, and in fact by the estimates of various stories in his mind this should have already happened...]

- Cortana, our world is just a bunch of fragments that have merged together as far as I know, I don't think we have any real history to go on, we can use what little I know as a reference and nothing more... Maybe some villains are even heroes and vice versa. - Eduard said with a bored expression before putting his uniform in a bag and walking to the gym and pretending to shower there before working out, a diversion he often used to distract his "lovely" Shield guards.

- Enolc. - Using the same principle that he remembered from Zatanna, he just repeated what he had been doing from time to time and a clone that would last a few minutes before disappearing began to wash itself as he disappeared.

- Right, let's sort this out. - Eduard arrived at the bar in less than a second and after hesitating a little he decided not to wear his uniform; walking in he saw a young woman who must have been around twenty who looked a lot like the actress from the series, Krysten Ritter, at the moment she was kissing a copy of David Tennant while ignoring the people in the bar assaulting each other. - His skin looks pretty normal, I guess if his story is based on anything it would be in the series... - After watching for a while he just walked over to the couple who were kissing and smelt a disgusting smell that was like a drug trying to influence him, of course it didn't have the slightest effect on him and probably no one with as much energy as him in their body, but still, for someone like him where all his senses were better than anyone else it was really a blow to smell that disgusting smell.

Note: I plan to write more of the story this week and prepare several chapters in advance to establish a regular upload schedule and extend the chapter length. My goal is to have this done by next Sunday, but it may be challenging as I also need to focus on writing my story.

In my other story I had a problem with the final paragraphs so as a precaution I will post this at the end of all the chapters.
