Kapitel 168: Let the Matches Begin

As the emperors walked through the garden and towards the improved outdoor training area, a warm breeze blew off of the ocean a short distance away and tossed Varya's hair over her shoulder.

It felt strange for her to not wear a hood but she slowly wanted to show the empire who she was so she wouldn't have to hide anymore. She didn't believe there was anyone she should fear because of her past except for the former emperor who was locked away for good.

She and Basileus had briefly discussed the brothel the previous night and she felt that his destroying it paved a way for her to be transparent toward the people she was supposed to rule. They were going to have to get used to her because they were going to see her a lot and she was always going to have someone powerful by her side so there would be no need to fear for her safety.
