Kapitel 4: 2003 may
May of 2002 we started trying again so far I'll have been negative. On all 16 tests. The sperm and egg have not been connected.
" So we're going to have embryos implants. But with our sperm and egg.
2 months have gone by today is the implant day. They have 4 embryos. I asked Shawn and Mark to stay out this time. I'm in and out within 1 hour.
" How was it. "
" It hurt a little bit but not to bad."
2 weeks later. ( July. )
I take the pregnancy test.
Positive. So I call Shawn. " I'm pregnant. "
" Really. "
" Yes. "
" I'll tell mark when he gets home. "
" Ok I'm going to relax this pregnancy. "
" Ok. I have to go. "
" Call if you need anything. "
I'm 8 weeks pregnant currently I have been taking it easy. Today is the first appointment. Mark and Shawn will be there for everything.
The doctor is used to us by now. She said " mark how is teaching."
" I'm probably going to quit. I want to be a author. "
" That's good. Do what you love. "
" Shawn have you found a internship."
" No not yet "
" Well a slot just opened up do you want to take it. "
" Yah. "
" can I see my baby."
" We're about to get to that. "
" Ok "
" We're going to be doing the tests first and then we will use the ultrasound. "
" Ok. "
The tests are done and she said " let's see you baby. "
The monitor shows babies.
It worked.
" There is baby a, b and c. "
" Triplets. "
" Triplets were having triplets. "
" I wish you luck. "
" Thanks. "
We leave and mark said " call me of you need anything. I have a meeting with a publisher. "
" Ok see you whenever."
I sit at my desk and work for a while.
10 weeks later
18 weeks pregnant
Back pain. No nausea or morning sickness this pregnancy. My bump isn't as big as I thought it would. I go the doctor this Friday.
Friday comes soon I go alone this time.
" Sandra. "
I go into the back. They make sure I'm healthy. Than the fun part.
I see my babies. They have grown.
" There is another heartbeat. "
" What. "
" Instead of triplets there is quadruplets. "
" Come again. "
" You have 4 babies in your uterus. "
" 4. "
" Yes and do you want to know the genders. "
" Yes. Than can you put them on a pice of paper. "
She writes them down and hands me the paper.
3 boys and a girl.
" Thanks for everything. "
" That's what I'm here for. "
I leave and head home I start to make gender reveal cakes. I have a blueberry cake for the boys and a strawberry for the boys.
The cakes are done and I go to settings up the house.
" At 5 mark and Shawn show up. They said " when will everyone be here. "
" Soon. So I'm going to sit on the couch. "
People arive everyone gets here they pick what they think the genders are going to be.
So I said " who wants to know the genders."
Each of us go to a cake I cut open the first one it's blueberry. " It's a boy. "
Shawn does the next. " It's a boy. "
Mark does the ' last' . " It's a boy. "
I pull out another cake. " We're not having triplets were having quadruplets. "
" It a girl. "
" Quadruplets. " Mark said.
I lay down on the couch and said " lol wave whenever you want. There is already a goody bag made. "
I start to doze off.
I wake up 3 hours later I wake up and I see a bunch of boxes. " These are the clothes of all of hand me down clothes. "
" Mark can you order the bottles and the Brest pump that's in my registry. "
" Yah. Than I'll wash all of the clothes and sort them. "
" Ok their dresser is all set up. "
20 weeks later.
38 weeks pregnant
I can only get up to go to the bathroom and walk around the house. I have been going to appointments every 2 days. I have constant monitors I have monitors on my babies. Let's just say those hurt like hell.
But anything to keep these babies in.
I lay down at 8 pm fall asleep. I feel liquid leave my body but I smell it it doesn't smell like pee. " My water broke. " I said. I go out to the living room were mark and Shawn are sleeping. " My water broke. "
They both woke up and said " ambulance or have us drive you. "
" You have the car seats. In the truck. So I'm going by ambulance you meet me there. And call the doctor on the way there. "
I call the ambulance. They leave to the hospital. 4 minutes later I hear them knock on the door. " Come in bring the stretcher. "
They come in I'm on the floor. They look at my belly. " I have 4 babies in my uterus ready to come out so please stop staring and help me to the hospital. "
" Yes mam. "
When I'm in the ambulance the paramedic said " we only stare because we never see a pregnant woman who survived quadruplets. "
" I know it's rare to be at 38 weeks. "
" Your one though woman. "
" Well I have been through a lot. "
" Weren't you in the news. You had a miscarriage and won billions of dollars. "
" Yah i try to keep that in the past. "
" I bet. "
We get to the hospital.the paramedic said " good luck. "
I get into the main entrance Shawn and mark already have the bags. A nurse said " do you want a wheelchair."
" Yes please." She put the bags on the chair and said " your going to be in the labor and delivery wing. "
" Will I be in a room. " I asked.
' yes and your doctor is ready for you. "
" I thing my contractions are starting. "
" That's good. Hunny. "
" It is starting to hurt. "
" It's almost midnight. "
