A smile spread across Hao Xun's face. It appeared that Yoo Sung-jin speaking in Chinese brought him joy.
"You can speak Chinese?"
"I can manage some conversations, but I don't understand everything."
"Maybe I shouldn't have brought a translator after all."
At that comment, Yoo Sung-jin smiled, releasing their clasped hands.
"I also brought a translator. Clear communication is crucial, isn't it? This meeting decides whether to end the war or continue it. Let's sit down and continue our discussion."
Yoo Sung-jin took a seat first, gesturing toward the other side.
"Haha. You're right about that."
Hao Xun laughed heartily and walked over to sit at the table.
With the translators beside them, the two men exchanged small talk as they assessed one another, soon diving into the core of the matter.
"Let me ask something. We're not the only Chinese organization in South Korea, so why have you targeted us so persistently? I'm curious about your reasons."
Yoo Sung-jin's subordinate whispering to him seemed to be translating Hao Xun's words.
"We informed the Black Dragon Society clearly. We told them not to sell drugs in Korea. This isn't China; it's Korea. Plus, how can we tolerate the continuous drug sales without our permission? If we were to distribute drugs in Tianjin, would you just sit by and do nothing?"
Before the translator could relay the words, Hao Xun's face hardened. It seemed he sensed the firmness in the tone.
"…Up until now, we've said nothing, haven't we? We even contacted Geuksung Group to offer money and got refused. What are you suggesting now?"
"I'm not like the previous chairman. He might have turned a blind eye to some things, but I won't. I absolutely can't allow foreign organizations to operate in Korea."
Yoo Sung-jin conveyed his stance firmly with a strong and unyielding tone.
Hao Xun silently looked into Yoo Sung-jin's eyes without answering.
After a moment, he sighed deeply and finally spoke.
"I heard that the Southeast Asian organizations have given up on drugs. Instead, you allocated territories to them?"
"As long as they follow the rules we stated, there's no need for unnecessary bloodshed. However, if they refuse to abide by those rules, we will eliminate them or be annihilated in return. It's that simple."
"I hear you're quite aggressive as rumored."
Yoo Sung-jin and Hao Xun exchanged glares, their silent war heating up.
Then, the door swung open, and a group of people walked into the restaurant.
"What's going on here? Did I arrive too late?"
Turning toward the voice, they saw a stout man followed by several muscular men.
"Wang Wei! You're late!"
Seeing him, Yoo Sung-jin rose from his seat and scolded loudly.
"Haha, sorry. The traffic was terrible. Don't be too mad at me, buddy."
Wang Wei ambled over with a slouch, casually patting Yoo Sung-jin on the shoulder before addressing the seated Hao Xun.
"Vice Chairman Hao Xun, this is our first meeting, isn't it?"
Hao Xun nodded and stood up to extend his hand.
"Mr. Wang Wei, it's a pleasure to meet you."
Wang Wei and Hao Xun shook hands firmly.
After the handshake, Wang Wei naturally made his way toward the head of the table and settled in.
"Let's all sit down first. Today, we must end the war between our two organizations. After all, the Vice Chairman of our Black Society and I, Wang Wei, are personally mediating this matter."
Kim Mu-hyeok, observing this, rased an eyebrow. He whispered to Ma Seok-dae beside him.
"Didn't you say that the Black Society's main territory is in Guangdong Province?"
"That's right. They're known for having a stronghold there and influencing areas like Hong Kong and Macau."
"Not a very good physiognomy, though…"
Wang Wei's face was chubby, the embodiment of greed.
Kim Mu-hyeok couldn't believe tht someone with such a face could have no interest in the Korean market.
Wang Wei kept laughing, pretending to be amicable, but his eyes were anything but warm.
While Kim Mu-hyeok observed Wang Wei, hose seated at the table began addressing the real issue.
"There's no point in dragging this out. The Black Dragon Society should stop selling drugs in Korea, and in return, the Heavenly Group will assist your group in entering Japan."
Yoo Sung-jin, having received a hint from Wang Wei, slightly nodded in agreement, which made Hao Xun frown.
"Nonsense! Do you have any idea how much blood we're spilling to establish a foothold in Korea? And now you want us to give all of that to the Heavenly Group? I cannot accept such mediation!"
It seemed that the information Wang Wei had shared wasn't what Hao Xun had proposed.
"This is a business we've built with the blood of the Black Dragon Society members. To just pull out? What type of nonsensical mediation is this? Mr. Wang Wei, I clearly proposed that 30% of the profits go to the Heavenly Group!"
Hao Xun's voice rose in agitation. However, Wang Wei maintained a thick smile.
"Hey now, Vice Chairman. Would the Heavenly Group accept such a proposal? If you've requested mediation from us, it would be reasonable to accept our proposal. Right, Chairman Yoo?"
Yoo Sung-jin nodded in agreement, supporting Wang Wei's statement.
"Vice Chairman, it's not that we can't continue the drug business due to a lack of money. This war was started by the Heavenly Group's intent to engage directly in Korea. We have no intention of ending the war for just 30% of the profits."
"Chairman Yoo, if we continue this war, it won't only cause problems for us but also for the Heavenly Group. Please, turn a blind eye to this."
Yoo Sung-jin and Hao Xun were firmly standing their ground, and the atmosphere grew heated.
Meanwhile, Wang Wei, here to mediate, merely sipped his tea and watched the escalating tension without intervening.
"At this rate, we will have to concentrate all our resources in Korea. The Black Dragon Society cannot abandon the drug business; it's our primary income. How could we just give that up?"
"Then it's war. We're not concerned about that at all. At least in Korea, we won't be outdone by other organizations."
While listening to the back-and-forth, Kim Mu-hyeok's gaze remained fixd on Wang Wei.
"It seems unlikely that he's here for mediation. He's acting rude for someone claiming to be a mediator. It's not polite to push forward just one opinion, is it?"
Kim Mu-hyeok, filled with suspicon, kept an eye on Wang Wei.
"If we only present our positions, does that mean the war is resolved? Why not follow the mediation plan I proposed? Chairman Yoo, do you agree?"
"I'm open to accepting that mediation plan."
Naturally, Yoo Sung-jin had to agree to a proposal like that.
Yoo Sung-jin nodded, and Hao Xun glared at both men with sharp eyes.
Wang Wei, still smiling broadly, turned to Hao Xun.
"Since the Heavenly Group agrees to that, what will the Black Dragon Society do? Will you accept it or reject it?"
"…What are you demanding right now?"
"What am I demanding? I'm saying that if you don't accept this mediation plan, we'll have to consider going to war with you. What do you say? Are you accepting?"
"Wang Wei, you…"
Hao Xun hissed menacingly at Wang Wei.
However, Wang Wei's expression remained unchanged. A relaxed smile still hung on his face.
"Aren't you the one who asked for mediation? I thought I was offering a good plan for both sides, but it seems you find it bothersome?"
"Who do you think you are? I am Hao Xun!"
"Who doesn't know that around here? Now, make your choice. Will you accept or reject our offer and go to war?"
Clenching his fists, Hao Xun ground his teeth.
"…So you really intend to backstab me! I have absolutely no intention of accepting such a mediation. War? Fine, let's go!"
"Haha! Vice Chairman, I must admit, you've got guts. But do you really think you're leaving here alive after saying that?"
Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted bizarrely. Yoo Sung-jin could not just sit idly by and watch.
"Wang Wei!"
Yoo Sung-jin called out to Wang Wei, who answered casually.
"What is it, friend?"
"What are you doing? Aren't you here to mediate? I'd like you to be a little more cautious."
Wang Wei turned his head from Hao Xun to look at Yoo Sung-jin.
"What's the issue, friend? All we have to do is end the war. You know it's only getting harder for you too, right? How could the people beneath you even think of taking you down? When Park Dong-su was around, no one even had those thoughts."
At that, Yoo Sung-jin frowned. Few knew of the rebellion being plotted by Director Kang Jun-woo within the group.
It was a topic being handled very secretly, yet Wang Wei had indeed brought it up.
"…So it was you, Wang Wei?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Seeing him shrug innocently, Yoo Sung-jin's anger surged, and he shouted.
"You bastard… So you were the Chinese guy who allied with Director Kang! This is completely insane! How could you do this to me?"
At that, Wang Wei's smile vanished.
With a chilling demeanor, Wang Wei finally revealed his true colors.
"Friend, you just figured that out? What a disappointment."
"You lunatic… Do you really wish to die?"
Yoo Sung-jin stood up abruptly, glaring at Wang Wei.
The atmosphere in the restaurant became a powder keg, ready to explode.
"Today, the one dying will be you and Hao Xun here, not me."
Wang Wei coldly stated as the men standing behind him pulled out their guns.
They aimed their firearms toward Yoo Sung-jin and Hao Xun.
"Sit down, friend, unless you want a bullet in your head. And those friends behind you too, take all your guns out and put them on the floor!"
Hao Xun's men immediately understood and took out their guns, dropping them to the floor.
However, Yoo Sung-jin's subordinates couldn't grasp the Chinese commands.
Wang Wei laughed mockingly at the situation.
"It looks like you came into enemy territory unarmed. You've really let your guard down completely."
"…When did this happen?"
Yoo Sung-jin, gnawing his lip, sat back down to ask.
"What's it to you? Even if you found out now, you can't do anything about it."
The situation was getting more and more interesting. Kim Mu-hyeok, observing from theback, signaled Manager Ma.
Understanding the signal, Manager Ma slipped his hand into his pocket and pressed the call button on his phone.
"Right now, what's important to me isn't you, friend. It's Hao Xun here."
Wang Wei seemed to focus on the Heavenly Group rather than the Black Dragon Society.
He turned his gaze from the furious Yoo Sung-jin to Hao Xun instead.
"Our Black Society has been looking to expand into Beijing for a while now, but you guys from the Black Dragon Society are firmly entrenched in Tianjin, which makes things difficult for us. But how interesting. You requested the Heavenly Group for mediation? That's why we came up with this wonderful plan. So, what do you think? Are you pleased?"
The situation Wang Wei created appeared to be precarious.
Yet, Hao Xun wore a confident smile.
"Do you really think I came to Korea without any plans? I am Hao Xun!"
"In this situation, you can't do a thing. The bullets point right at your head."
"Really? Is that so?"
Suddenly, the sound of shattering glass resonated as the men holding guns swung toward Hao Xun and Yoo Sung-jin, collapsing to the side.
"What the hell! Who said Korea was a safe country for firearms? Anyone can just walk in with guns!"
With a deep sigh, Kim Mu-hyeok rose and muttered.
