A warm Home.
As Reina released him and sat back on her heels, and said in voice filled with gentleness and carness, "That's good, you awake now but you've been lying here all day without eating anything since you fell. Its already the evening, and you need to regain your Strength." Her tone was filled with motherly concern, wrapping around Ren like a comforting blanket.
Ren's heart softened at her words, a strange but pleasant warmth spreading through his chest. He hadn't known what it felt like to have someone genuinely care for him like this in his past life.
She said gently. "Go take a shower, Ren-Chan," she continued, still brushing his hair lovingly. "Your aunt and I are preparing dinner. You know she was so worried about you that she been upset from morning, when she knows you are ok now, her mood become better. While, we cooking, you go freshen up. Okay?"
Ren nodded, unable to find the words to express the mix of gratitude and emotion swelling withing him. Reina stood gracefully, her hand briefly lingering on his shoulder in reassurance. Her golden eyes radiated a love so pure that Ren felt his throat tighten.
"Take your time, Ren- chan. Dinner will be ready in meantime," she said softly before turning to head downstairs.
As he watched her descend the wooden staircase the sound of her footsteps fading, Ren leaned his head back against the bed frame and sighed deeply.
"This is my new life," he murmured to himself, the weight of it settling in his heart. "And I'll do everything in my power to live for my mother and aunt."
Standing up, Ren stretched his ore limbs before heading down the staircase. The house had a warm, tradition Japanese aesthetic, with wooden floors that creased softly underfoot and sliding shoji doors separating the room. It reminded him of the homes he'd seen in manga and anime, a surreal but comforting familiarity.
Ren entered the bathroom, which was spacious yet minimalistic. The wooden- panel walls gave the space a rustic charm, and the deep soaking tub sat in the air, probably from a soap Reina had used earlier.
He closed the door and looked it, hearing the faint click. Just as he began to undress, the muffled sound of the main door opening reached his ears.
"I am home!" a cheerful female voice called out.
"Oh! you are back," Reina replied from somewhere downstair most probably from kitchen. "Come help me in the kitchen!"
"Okay! Big-sis." The other woman responded, her tone light and energetics.
Ren couldn't help but smile as he imagined his mother an daunt bustling in the kitchen, chatting as they prepared dinner. Turning his attention back to the bath, he filled the tub with water and sank into to, letting out a contented sigh as the heat seeped into his muscles.
As he relaxes, Ren's though wandered to the system. "System," he called, his voice steady. "How can I increase my stats and gain power?"
[The host can grow stronger by completing tasks and daily mission,] the system promptly.
Ren furrowed his brows. "Task and daily mission, huh wait…" a thought struck him. "Don't system usually give a beginner's gift?"
[Yes, host. If you think about the beginner's gift, it will appear,]
the system confirmed.
Closing his eyes, Ren visualized a gift box in his mind. A blue screen materialized in front of him, displaying an image of a gift box wrapped in shimmering silver ribbon.
[I suggest the host collect this gift in a safe location,] the system added.
"Safe? Why?" Ren asked, but the system remained cryptic. Deciding not to push further, he finished his bath, dried off, and dress in the fresh clothes. Standing before the mirror in his room, Ren examined his reflection. His black hair and golden eyes bore a striking resembled to his mother's a realization that brought a faint smile to his lips.
"Me… and mother look very similar," he whispered, his heart swelling with a strange mix of pride and affection.
The sound of Reina voice calling from downstairs pulled Ren from his thoughts.
"Ren- Chan, Dinner is ready!"
"I am coming!" Ren called back, heading down the wooden staircase.
the dining area was cozy, with a low wooden table set for three. The kitchen, connected to the dining room, was bustling with activity. Reina sat at the table, her warm smile greeting him.
As Ren approached, a second figure emerged from the kitchen, carrying a streaming dish. She had hair tried in a neat braid and black eyes that sparkled with kindness. She set the dish before walking over to Ren, enveloping him in a gentle hug.
"Ren- Chan, are you feeling better?" she asked, her voice soft and caring. Her floral fragrance surrounds him, and he felt the same warmth he had experienced with Reina.
"Yes, aunt," Ren replied, his voice steady but tinged with emotion. "I'll take better care of myself from now on."
Amaya smiled, her eyes glistening slightly. "Good. You scared me, you know that? Please take care of your- self more."
Ren just little smile and said "Yes, Aunt I will take care of myself"
When Amaya want tell something. Reina's voice interjected gently.
"Alright, let's eat first. We can talk more after dinner."
After Amaya one last time caressed his cheeks and said your mother is right sit and eat first, after trio sat the table, the dished spread out in a traditional Japanese style—steamed rice, miso soup, grilled fish and an assortment of pickled vegetables.
Ren took his first bite of the fish, and his eyes widened. The flavoured burst in his mouth, rich and savoury yet delicate. He chewed slowly, scoring the taste.
"Ren- Chan? What happened? Is something wrong with food?" Reina asked, her tone worried. She asked again. "Did I use too much pepper in food?"
Ren quickly shook his head. "No, Oka- San. The food is amazing. It's just…" he paused; his voice thick with emotion. "It's too delicious. So, I can't control my emotions"
Reina and Amaya worried expression melted into smile. "Eat solely, Ren- Chan. Thers plenty for you."
Amaya chuckled softly. "It seems you've impressed him, Big- sis."
The warmth of the meal, the soft chatter, and the loving atmosphere filled Ren's heart. This was so different from his past life, where his meals were solitary and often consisted of instant noodles or packaged food.
For the first time in his life, he felt a sense of belonging.
After dinner and brief chat with Reina and Amaya, Ren retired to his room. Sitting on his bed, he gazed out the window at the star- filled sky.
"This is my life now," he murmured. "And I'll do whatever it takes to protect it."
His resolves hardened as he thought of Reina and Amaya, their smiles and love etched into his heart. A new chapter of his life had begun, and he was determination to make it a good one.
