Kapitel 11: CHAPTER 10 - Ye Feng Cornered.

When they heard Fang Haoran's final words, the once noisy crowd instantly fell silent.

Betting on raw stones with added stakes was common, but the stakes Fang Haoran had proposed were rare!

Besides, Mr. Fang wasn't the type of person with a fierce look, a muscular build, and scars all over his face, so why was he being so ruthless?

"So, what's the deal?" Fang Haoran continued. "If you win, I'll give you one hundred million. If I win, I just want your eyes!"

"Of course, if you're too scared to bet, that's fine. Just admit that you're blind, and I won't hold it against you!" He added with a sneer.

Everyone turned their gaze to Ye Feng, eager to see if he had the guts to stake his eyes against a hundred million. And under the spotlight, Ye Feng only let out a cold laugh, then looked directly at Fang Haoran.

"Who would refuse a hundred million? Of course, I'll take it—I'll bet with you." But then he paused, adding another condition, "But, I have one condition too. If you lose, you must voluntarily cancel your engagement with Teacher Liu!"

Ye Feng knew that Fang Haoran was trying to manipulate him, attempting to make him admit defeat to avoid embarrassment. But Ye Feng had already seen through his plan.

With my x-ray vision, I'm already unbeatable—that was what he thought.

Ye Feng was playing him at his own game. He didn't want his woman to be involved with any other man, even in name, and that was why he had added that condition.

The crowd around them whispered, some thinking it was a coincidence that the two had crossed paths. They didn't expect it was all premeditated, and all for a woman. They definitely didn't think Ye Feng was just helping his teacher Liu.

However, considering Ye Feng's appearance, which would definitely get his ID checked on the street, how could he possibly compete with the "high, rich, and handsome" Fang Haoran?

"Is that it? Then I'll add nothing more. I've already cut ties with Liu Quingshuang," Fang Haoran, listening to Ye Feng's words, coldly stated before he sneered, "To avoid anyone saying I'm bullying you, why don't you pick a stall and choose your raw stones first?"

"I don't care," Ye Feng, however, waved his hands, feeling confident in his ability, "You pick first, so you won't complain if you lose!"

"I won't be unsatisfied, but you, Mr. Fang, might act like a sore loser. What can I, a poor student, do about that?" Then he added with a sigh as if saying how unjust the world was, but he still picked a stall first.

The crowd, now around forty or fifty people, followed to watch.

As Fang Haoran pretended to carefully pick his stones, Ye Feng couldn't help but laugh inside.

Fang Haoran, Fang Haoran, do you think I wouldn't notice that there are supernatural abilities in this world?

Ye Feng focused on the raw stones in front of him, eager to show off his skills, but to his shock, he couldn't see anything!

'What's going on? Why has my x-ray vision stopped working?!' He was shocked, his eyes darted around, and after rubbing them, Ye Feng realized in terror that his ability was gone!!!

Without his trump card, Ye Feng broke into a cold sweat, panic setting in.

The crowd watched, seeing Ye Feng standing there dumbfounded, and started gossiping.

Fang Haoran, on the other hand, continued to tap and inspect the stones, looking confident, while Ye Feng, standing frozen, was no longer making sense of the situation.

Finally, Ye Feng took a deep breath and started to make his move.

He couldn't back out now, with all eyes on him. Plus, he still had a chance to win.

He had passed by this stall earlier and had caught a glimpse of the stones with his x-ray vision, so relying on his fuzzy memory, he picked three raw stones, choosing the best he could.

Fang Haoran, however, had already skillfully "identified" the most valuable stone and had taken it for himself. After Ye Feng picked his stones, Fang Haoran sighed as he looked at the stones the guy had picked, swapping one of the stones in his hand.

It seems like he overestimated the guy.

After all, finding something as rare as Imperial Green jade was too absurd and would definitely draw attention. Fang Haoran wasn't trying to make huge profits, just ensuring he won.

At last, they both finished selecting and went to the stone-cutting specialist to start the process.

Compared to Ye Feng's anxious demeanor, Fang Haoran was calm and collected.

The first raw stone Fang Haoran chose was cracked open, and after the sound of water and cutting, the crowd leaned in to see… it was a worthless stone!

"No way! He seemed so professional when he picked it—how did he choose a worthless one?"

"Was it a mistake, or does he really not know what he's doing?"

The crowd again broke into whispers.

Fang Haoran, however, remained calm. Although the stone might still have a very small chance of containing something valuable, he signaled to the cutter to stop. He then turned to Ye Feng and spoke, "Alright, your turn!"

Ye Feng, feeling uncertain, wasn't in the mood to mock anyone. He nervously placed his stone on the workbench.

With one cut, a flash of green. Seeing the green, Ye Feng was overjoyed and quickly told the master to be careful.

In the end, a piece of jade the size of two fists appeared.

"Hmm, although the jade quality is average, it's large in size, so it's probably worth around 200,000." Among the crowd, some who were knowledgeable about jade agreed with the master's assessment.

"Heh, Mr. Fang, no need to rush. There are still two stones left!" Ye Feng regained some confidence and couldn't resist "comforting" Fang Haoran.

"Why should I rush? If I lose, I'll just give you a piece of paper as compensation." Fang Haoran, however, just shrugged casually, placing the second stone on the workbench. "Go ahead!"

After the master's skilled operation, the stone was cut open.

"What's this? It's a type of 'frozen ice' jade, with rich colors. This egg-sized sunshine green jade is worth quite a lot! At least 400,000!"

Seeing this, Ye Feng grew nervous again. His smile, which had just begun to spread, faded. This wasn't good for him!

Soon, Ye Feng's second stone was cut.

"Another sunshine green jade! Although the quality isn't as good as the last one, it's much larger, so it's quite valuable."

The crowd discussed for a moment before estimating the value at 800,000.

Ye Feng's grin returned, stretching wide like a blooming chrysanthemum. His emotion meter was going up and down continuously, making it hard for him, but for now, he was happy.

Fang Haoran, increasingly intrigued, couldn't help but suggest, "Why don't you go first with the last one? I want to see if you can manage to cut all three stones successfully!"

"Haha, are you afraid I'll fail?" Ye Feng was now full of confidence, and sure enough, when the final stone was cut open, it revealed a large piece of ordinary green jade worth around 300,000.

Ye Feng's three stones combined were valued at 1.3 million. This meant that for Fang Haoran to win, the last piece of jade had to be worth at least 900,000.

With his anxiety relieved, Ye Feng once again adopted his confident, rebellious attitude.

However, Fang Haoran was focused on something else. He had figured it out. It seemed that before he spent 100 luck points to activate his "Ability Shield," Ye Feng had already used his x-ray vision to examine the stall. But since he hadn't taken a good look, he was relying on vague impressions to pick stones with more green.

No wonder all three stones Ye Feng chose had average quality but were large in size. Looks like this guy has a pretty good memory.

Fang Haoran then handed the last stone to the cutter, giving the instruction, "Cut it open!"

The crowd was eager to see the final piece, craning their necks to watch the master at work.

One cut, two cuts, three cuts.

After more than ten minutes, as a flash of green-yellow appeared from the window, the cutter couldn't help but hold his breath.

He worked even more slowly, but no one was impatient—except for Ye Feng, who muttered quietly to himself, "It's garbage, it's garbage, it's garbage." He wished for it to be a waste stone, but unfortunately, the stone didn't turn out as Ye Feng had hoped.

"This is... spring green! And it's frozen ice spring green!"

"There are so many colors—this is an extremely rare and valuable jade!"

The jade that appeared was only the size of a palm, but the crowd was buzzing with excitement.

"This is the legendary frozen ice spring green? I've never seen one before!"

"Me neither!"

"Old man, I've seen one before—an ice-type spring green bangle. It sold for more than 700,000 at auction, and that was over 20 years ago!"

The crows erupted the moment they saw the result. But after the excitement, the crowd couldn't help but wonder—how much was this piece of jade really worth?

The cutter pondered for a moment before giving a thoughtful suggestion. "Based on the current market, it should be worth between 2 million to 3 million. If it were to be auctioned, it could fetch even more!"

Everyone gasped, understanding the implication of this statement—whether this piece of frozen ice spring green was valued at the lower end or the higher end, it meant Fang Haoran had won the bet.

Fang Haoran, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow, silently admiring the cutter's skill.

This old guy really knows his stuff. The estimated values of these jades were nearly identical to what the "appraisers" had shown.
