Kapitel 8: WHEN WILL IT BE PERFECT?

It is Monday morning. School time! Time for her to put on her fake self again. Her rudeness! She put on her uniform, styled her hair, wore her heels, and took a bike to school since Mommy wasn't back yet to drive her in her SUV. It was like she possessed the Jekyll and Hyde character—Jekyll at home, Hyde at school.

The school bell rang. Kaylee walked in, and Mary and Jane hurried to her. Mary took her bag.

"Good morning, Mistress," Jane and Mary greeted.

"Get me my lollipop," Kaylee ordered.

"Yes!" Jane hurried to get one.

Every teacher murmured greetings when she passed. They didn't want to lose their job. Kaylee walked to the office alongside Mary.

"Wait outside," she said to Mary and entered the office. She took a deep breath, then sat on the swivel chair and placed her head on the desk. She was exhausted. She had been having sleepless nights since Philip came.

"Mary!" she called.

"Yes, ma'am," Mary hurried in.

"Check for my phone in my backpack."

She logged on to Facebook, went to the search box, and typed Allen. She wanted to know about him, but billions of people had the name Allen. What was she thinking? Just typing Allen and she would find him?

She exhaled and kept scrolling down, admiring the pictures of the different Allens. Then Mommy's telephone rang. She hesitated to pick it up at first, but it rang again.

"Hello," she said.

"Hello, ma'am, are you back from PH?"

"Who is this?"

"It is Mr. Warren."

"Oh, the devil himself," Kaylee yelled.

"Ma'am, are you alright?"

"I am alright, but you are fired!" Kaylee yelled and hung up.

She was breathing heavily. She had true hatred for that man. He caused everything.

She closed her eyes and meditated, trying to recover from her uncontrollable anger. Her cell phone rang. The ringtone shocked her. She was terrified. It was Mom calling.

"Why is she calling? Has that coach reported to her?" She stared at the phone until it stopped ringing. She sighed, rested her head on the edge of the chair, and spun it around until it rang again. Then she picked it up without hesitation or looking at the caller.

"Hello, Mom! Don't call me—"

"Am I speaking with the daughter of Mrs. Zachary?" a strange voice asked.

"Who are you?"

"Uhm, can you please come to the orthopedic hospital?"

"Orthopedic? Why?"

"I am sorry, your father is here already. Your mother got into a car accident. Please come over."

Kaylee gasped.

Kaylee screamed at the top of her voice. Teachers rushed in.

"Are you alright?" the secretary asked her.

"Mom!!!" she screamed again, grabbed her bag from Mary, and ran off. She ran outside, ignoring all the eyes on her, waved down a motorcycle, and got on.
